    Obestity?
I saw this pic on the bet.. do these snakes look obese to you or something? I never saw one with the weird lumpiness like in ths pied on the left.
It's a link, not my snakes.

The one stretched out doesn't look so bad (maybe because its not curling) but that other one just makes me think YUCK! ...and its a pied!

they don't look too old, i bet they slow down or stop eating before long. balls do a good job of maintaining enough calories.

Just about all the pythons that i have worked on in the museum for skeletal preperation, look obese to me with the amount of fat deposits within the body cavity. Even snakes that don't look overweight on the outside, have massive amounts of fat within them. But as far as that pic goes, they would probably advertise it as a...."good eater" hahaha

Lynn (from Boas and Balls) is who I get some of my rats from, and I have seen these guys in person. The picture is kind on misleading, in that the "chubby" guy is full grown and only about 2 feet long .... he is sort of an oddity. To give you an idea how small he really is, I believe the other one in the picture is a yearling.

Sounds kinda neat, but Im a magnet for freaks LOL
Any idea if it looked any different than usual as a youngster (was it apparent early on that it was "different")?

If I remember right, she said he was small but not to the point that he really stood out. He is definitely different to look at when you see him in person. She has not bred him to my knowledge, the pieds (and poss hets) she produced this year were all from het to het breedings.

    Thanks Neil :)

So when you look at him, he basically has the girth of an adult but with a 2' length? I think he'd be a cool snake to have as a pet.....

Yep, thats pretty close. His head looks out of proportion with his body to me when you see him stretched out. It does not really look that way in the picture though. In person he seems to have more of a trianlge shaped head, but that may just be how it looks because of the length of his body.
