    rescued boa(pics DU Warn.)
I just rescued this boa that the local SPCA brought me this morning. As you see he/she has serious nose rubbing and seems to be a little skinny. Looks like its about 3 ft long. When I pulled him/her out of the pillow case I couldn't believe how gorgeous she was. I know she is'nt a normal BCI. So I would like your help to please identify her color. I think she may be a salmon, not sure though. She is very pink. Tried to get some good pictures, but could'nt get its color well. Let me know what you all think?

Not a salmon, has some nice pastel saddles and sides though. Could easily be a normal BCI. They range pretty far in colors and all. Bad nose rub though...wow, poor thing! The tail is what throws me the loop. Too spaced and not enough red...could be a cross with a hogg island boa, if anything. Good luck, but you won't ever know for sure...sorry.

Ok thanks for your input. Yea the more I read on them I guessing its just a normal. This is my first boa.

You'll never look back, they steal you quickly! haha, have fun and keep us posted on his/her progress.

You want to know the easiest way to find out if it's a boy or a girl?

For no reason am I saying it's better than probing, but most people don't probe right and can injure your snake if they don't know what they are doing, so this is a safe and accurate method. Let us know!

Wow that is a seriously gorgeous boa. I don't know what it is either.. I'd guess it's just a very unique normal BCI. It doesn't look like it has hog island in it, but that's just my opinion (I do own two of those though)

I did what you said. I could'nt feel anything so I thought I was doing it wrong so I probed her.

Told ya, nothing is a girl...two bumps is a boy. It's never wrong when they are young. When they get older and bigger it's a little different, but when they are still that age it's pretty much dead on. I'm glad it worked for you. I still probe to be dead on, but if I'm at a show or something, it comes in handy to know you are getting a properly sexed snake.

Was described to me once by the breeder of my Stimson's & Kenyan, and a retic breeder as "clicking".
