A little punctuation might make that readable.

Cold temps will lower humidity (warm air holds more moisture) - not too sure if that was what you were asking (?)

Wheezing and mucus is not a good sign.

A RI does not clear up on it's own and is a serious problem, so an Herp Vet must be seen ASAP to get proper treatment, here is how to find one in your area http://www.arav.org/USMembers.htm

While waiting for your appointment all you can do is to raise your temps.

    Keep us posted.

yes. your warm end should be 90-92 and your cool end should be 80-82.

please... relax and breathe... and re read your post before you hit the reply button. when you are missing letters and words from your posts it's very hard for us to understand (and respond) what you are asking.

Lower the humidity and up the warm side to 95 until you can get in to see a vet.

    ian,

from your previous posts here on the forum... i know you can write legibly. please :please: stop and re read your posts. how are we supposed to know what you are asking?

how's your other snake? is it only one which seems sick?

i would think that by now... you would have all your husbandry issues worked out. you've had these two snakes for 4 months now. we want to assist you... but you have to write legibly for us to do so ;)

IF you still have them housed together... please separate them now and move them to different rooms. if only one of your snakes is sick, you don't want the other one getting sick as well.

this is what i am referring to ian. i was hoping you would know by now that you need 90-92 on the warm side and 80-82 on the cool side. ;)

but... i understand being panicked and feeling out of control... so no problem there.

do you have them in separate rooms?

remember... this is a quarantine situation. you work with the healthy snake first... wash up really good and then go to the sick snake... and wash up really good afterwards. have different untensils for each snake (tongs etc) as you don't want to pass any dis-ease to the healthy one.

 we are here for you...

Actually both humidity and temps should be increased while waiting for a vet appointment.

snakes need belly heat to aid with digestion. perhaps you can switch to a UTH or flexwatt?

in the meantime... can you mount the radiator on the warm end as close to end as possible?

Yes I know but after talking to several people including breeders it is consider "old school" to lower humidity.

Getting the humidity higher allow to break up the mucus.

Re: my ball python got a chill
perhaps someone experienced can chime in as to what to do about the humidity issue?

i'll do a search and try to find some answers for you... of course... you can always do a search yourself!

UTH is under tank heater... it's a little square pad which gives off heat - flexwatt is the same although you can get longer sheets of it cut to spec so you can heat a rack of snakes - it does under the tank to give belly heat.

That said, while you're waiting for the vet, increase your temps to the high 80's and bump your humidity to above 60% ... these steps might make the symptoms go away by hiding them, but your snake will still have a URI and will still need vet care. Respiratory infections can only be cured with a full course of anti-biotics.

i had one given to me with respitory infection. my friend was like '' hey his necks all swollen and hes breathing weird. do you want him?

im thinking '' i hope you never have kids''

anyhoo we did the antibiotics like you did, only my reptile guy gave me the shots to keep here at the house and administer myself. they worked and the little guy got all better!

hope your lucks as good as mine was! let us know if he chows down on some micey tail
