Re: say hello to The Admiral
Is that rodent to big to feed? That thing looks huge!
Re: say hello to The Admiral
8B8ll...no it was actually almost the exact same size around as he was, but I do agree, it does look pretty big in the picture. He usually eats weanlings, but that's only because I don't see much need of putting him in any more danger from a live rat than need be (and he's not that big, 500 grams or so). I tried F/T and he looked at me like I was stupid; he's definitely a live kinda guy. Thanks for the replies everybody!

Re: say hello to The Admiral
Cool Cool Thanks I was just seeing if my guy could eat something like that but I will stick to what I have at the moment great looking snake! And cool pics! :carrot:
Re: say hello to The Admiral
Gorgeous snake! Love it! :) And normal is awesome--ours is a normal, and I just love them.
Great pics too--I love love love the belly pic where he's kind of hanging in a "U" shape with his tail curled up a bit. Very nice.
By the way... do I see a hot rock in some of the pics? Just curious... it's my understanding that hot rocks can damage a snake fairly easily. I know a lot of pet stores and nature centers use them for their displays, but I think the standard advice from herp experts is to stay the heck away from them.
Bring on the photos--they are gorgeous. :)

Re: say hello to The Admiral
Heatherhead42....there are definitely NO hot rocks in any of my snake cages, I'm not sure what looked like one, I'll have to go back and look through the pics. I spent an exorbitant amount of time researching everything for my snakes' enclosures (you could say I like to be thorough). Glad you guys/gals like the pics.
Re: say hello to The Admiral
Heather what i believe you think is the hot rock is a rock looking hide, i have two of them with my kid too. Assuming the wires would be from thermometers. I can verify this cuz mine look exactly the same, like every crack is identical! In several pics you can see the opening for the entrance too. Nice to point it out cuz there is never to much info for people to know how bad they can be.
Re: say hello to The Admiral
Gorgeus bp you have there :D and yeah thats not a hot rock (good point bringing it up thou :) those things need as much bad press as possible in my opinion )
it looks like an exo terra hide i have two of them in with Bob my little boy bp there great hides :)
Re: say hello to The Admiral
Ah, okay! Yeah, I saw the rock thingy and wires, and it looked kinda like what they have at the Nature Center near here (they use hot rocks, :(). Glad to hear it's not! And, glad to hear you're taking such great care of your beauty. :)
