    Low white Pied?
    Hi Folks,

I'm sure 90% of you have more experience with Pieds than I do. Tell me what you think of this snake:
    http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...therPied-2.jpg
    http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...rPiedBelly.jpg

From the funky white belly, and the way the 'normal' pattern has changed... this looks like a low-white pied to me. I dislike that most of the white is around the tail like a ringer, but am I right in thinking this animal is definitely pied?

    Thanks!

    IMHO, low white pied.
I like her... she is totally worthless, you should ship her to me, and I'll take care of the poor unfortunate wretch the rest of her life. Really.... haha.
She is pretty!!! Love her. Want her..

No, I have one of his sons. I have 2.1 snakes that are "100% het pied" and I'm trying to decide which male to part with. I really like the son of the snake pictured above, he's growing well, very pretty clean pattern... and eating f/t!

The other male is older, some times eats f/t, but overall not the same pleasure to keep... though comes from a high white pied. I know that lows through high and vice versa... but I want to make sure I really do have two 100% het pied males before I part with one! I'm really not concerned that I was mislead or ripped off, but sometimes these things come down to interpretation.

    Thanks!

it relly dosnt matter with pieds as you can breed two low color pieds together and bam you get a high white pied.

from what i have read i dont think it is a ringer as the rest of its pattern is crazy like a pied. now when you see a snake like that that looks normal pattern every where else boom you go a ringer.

I'd say it's a pied.. personally I like higher-white pieds, but then again that is a hot snake... now is it genetic for high-whites to produce like-whited babies, and low-whites to throw relatively lower whites? I would wonder that.

There is no relation between the amount of white in a pied to the amount of white in the babies it will produce.

Low white pieds have the same chance or producing high white babies as high white pieds.

Thanks Adam; I had been wondering that for awhile. Kinda how ugly Pastels can produce bright ones, and vice versa..?

Not really the same thing at all.

A low white pied bred to a het pied girl could produce an entire cluth of high white pieds ... it's totally random ... an ugly pastel bred to a normal "might" throw a nice one in a clutch, but the likely hood that all of the offspring will be screamers is very slim.

I'd be far more comfortable looking at a pastel and predicting what it's babies will most likely look like than I would looking at a pied and predicting the amount of white in it's babies.

    Thanks guys!

Glad to hear expert opinions, his son as well as his girlfriend are growing well, I can't wait to be hovering over their first clutch in a year or two hoping for the best :)
