    Prego Hope
So the guinea pig I rescued who I suspected was pregnant is now really showing signs of pregnancy. She is getting bigger and bigger. Tonight while sitting on my floor watching her eat hay her tummy bulge started to "jerk around". At first I thought I was seeing things, but no... more and more movement and kicking followed. So I grabbed the camera and got a good kick in on video.

If you watch right around second 7, 8, 9 you can see a good kick from a baby. It's hard to tell from her breathing in the video, but I was seeing them.

And here is a picture of the poor girl.

I watched the video and there is definitely a visible baby-bounce. Looks like you're gonna have a mama after all :)

I'm ringworm free! Rattie girl seems to be ringworm free too - or at least it's healed up to the point she isn't scratching like a nut or loosing any more fur. I'm still giving her baths for it just to be on the safe side. Fung-A-Way REALLY works - I saw improvements with her in 3 days... works well on humans too! =D

She's getting big and pooping just finr and looking just like a normal sweet ratty tat tat.

No idea. I picked her up after someone had dumped her off at a local Petsmart where one of my friends works at. Didn't know she was prego at the time.

Allison, she doesn't look too far pregnant to me- I think she will have a small litter. Typically they have 3-4. I had one who had 8- and all lived!

Here is a typically pregnant guinea pig:

This is not one of mine- I usually had them get even bigger before delivery! I just didn't have any photos of them.

A rule of thumb is, once you can feel movement, delivery will be about 3 weeks after. There is a way to tell within days when she will deliver. If you want the details PM me- you have to feel their pubic bone and I can help you with that.

I can attest that they do get suoer-huge before popping; my friend breeds them, and the one female she had looked like some sort of large pumpkin or squas before birthing, lol.
I need to add.. there are few things cuter than little baby guinea pigs! I could never feed them to a snake.. they are so flipping cute!

Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!)
    Shake that healthy butt!
    Baby got back!

LOL! Yes, the "official" cavy breeder's term is a "pancake." :D
I had anywhere from 30-40 pigs at a time and I was lucky enough
to be able to attend most of the births. It's amazing how big and
well developed the babies are. Gosh how I miss the babies! Especially
the curly haired ones! Here's one my daughter was handfeeding:

And here is a bunch of babies- all ages- some are TSW americans and some are skinny pigs:

    Thanks June!

I've been reading guinealynx.com about how you can feel their bones move and steps and such on labor.

Yup Allison, that's a great resource. It took me a couple of years of breeding though, before I figured out exactly how to feel for the pubic symphysis, so if you can't find it, PM me and I will walk you through it.

Thanks! Yes, that is what you strive for on this variety- Tortoiseshell and white. A deep, Irish setter red, a deep black clear through to the skin, clear edges to the patching, and ideally a checkerboard pattern to the patches. I had the color down- had a LONG ways to go on the patching, LOL!
