    Blue or Black Eyed Luescistic(sp?)
Alright so I have been doing a little bit of reading. I want to produce a blue eyed or a black eyed lucy or a couple of them at that. Now I have read all of the different logs and all of the posts about breeding . I am going to get 1.1 mojaves either this spring or summer. I also want to get a couple of other morphs. I want to have a nice collection with some of the rarer bp's in it. I havent found what my chances are to get a blue/black eyed lucy out of a clutch and I was wondering how many I could possibly get? All of this is going to take 2-3 for me to grow my mojaves into breeding size but i wanted to find out.

Breeding two mojaves (or other combos that can produce BELs) together is essentially breeding two het leucys together. Each egg has a 25% chance of being a BEL, and 50% chance of being a mojave etc., and a 25% chance of being normal.

Also...the only way to produce a black eyed lucy is fire x fire...

    Right on!

Although most will agree the super mojave is the dirtiest of all the BELs. With prices coming down, you are better off saving up and going lesser x lesser to get yourself a nice clean white snake with no head smudging or dorsal stripe

the blue eyes just plain rock! a while back i looked at the mojave and lesser combos and crosses, the lesser won for me hands down. the lesser bee, kingpin, lesser woma, pastel lesser, the platty, and the BEL all rock!!

for BEL's i think the lesser is brighter and cleaner than the mojaves!, imo. :D

I was just holding some adult super lessers this morning and they stay 100% pure white into adulthood ... they are AMAZING!!! ... A couple racks down, there were adult lucys from other lines that just didn't hold a candle to them. But this is just my opinion of course ... the cool thing about ball pythons is that there is literally something for everyone! :D

The fire BlackEL is soft white. The lesser BlueEL is hard white. Both are super clean white though. If that makes sense

The fire BlackEL sometimes has some random yellow scales that usually turn white over time. This seems to happen to ~20% of them.

Here is a fire BlackEL :gj:

I agree with Adam (Duh!) that it is really what you like - "there is literally something for everyone!" I personnally like the super lesser because I like the high white. That is, until I'm holding a Fire super and the creamy white blows me away.

One of these days I hope to have some of each in my collection. :sunny:

It appears that Butters and Lessers are compatible. Butters are on the same line as the Platinum complex and will produce white snakes when bred to a Lesser and Mojave. I am still waiting to see the picture of the super Butter which is a white snake.

Thanks Djslurp  !!!!!!! I will be looking into one next spring after I hatch out my snakes and dragons and start looking onto my next projects. I argree they are the cleaner BEL's and the combos are also amazing. Has anyone produced a BEL with another morph blended in? Like a lesser bee to lesser cross? Will the spider part show up in the super lesser. I'm also real curious what a cinamon x lesser would look like. Would it be pewter like? These are some plans I have for a lesser and don't know if they have been produced yet?

    BACK ON TOPIC!!!!

I wonder what would happen if both the blue eyed and black eyed trait showed up in the same animal....(aka. a homozygous blue eyed lucy AND a homozygous black eyed lucy all rolled into one animal).....what color would it's eyes be?

LOL.....where is Mendel with some of that eye genetics info that I need ;) Got this back up for you pal :D
