    She got Out!!!
I had one of my new females in a 10 gallon tank with screen lid and she pushed the lid up and escaped. I had her in the tank because I am in the process of building a rack. I have searched eveywhere in my room. I even pulled the refrigerator out to see if she was under it, but the whole thing is covered in about an inch of dust. I plan on placing a few pinkies throughout the house tonight to see if I can find out which room she is in. There are no holes in the walls, so I know she is in the house somewhere. Has this ever happened to you?
    What else could I do?

she may still be in the same room as the enclosure. also try setting up a heat lamp somewhere as well as the pinkies. she may get cold and need to look for some heat. but keep looking. when did this happen??

Ouch! I have heard others place flour along the edges of the walls to get some track marks.Good luck finding her.

I dont think it would be a safe idea setting out a heat lamp incase it gets knocked over or such as it could start a fire.

They almost always stay within 10-15 feet of their enclosure. When searching for her...check every crack, crevice, opening, or hole. If you've looked at something and thought, "There's no way she could fit under/through/into that".....CHECK THERE! It is mind-blowing what tight spaces they can squeeze their bodies through and into!!

how 'bout this, set up a secure heat lamp that wont get knocked over.

notify your family so they won't accidentally knock over the secure heat lamp and hope that a bp that live in a 10 gal isnt strong enough to knock over a secure heat lamp...

She was last seen at about 11 last night. I came home from class as 9:30 to discover her missing. I have a few extra heating pads that i will set out. I don't have any extra heat lamps. But that is a good idea.

    Thanks

    Just real quick.....

Go and check the tank again and make sure she isnt holed away some where in there. I made a mad dash over to a friends house for a lost ball one night, turns out he was in the moss. LOL

Keep in mind if you feed the snake will go find a warm spot to hide for a day or two. you would get more action from a hungry snake.

I have also heard they dont go far from the tank. You might make a nice warm comfortable hide somewhere. Might work.

Even jsut scenting the room with a mouse might be enough to get some hunting action!

    Good luck!!!!!!!!

I just pulled the dryer and washing machine out to see if she was behind or under them but she wasn't.
I checked the tank 5 times! She is not there.

when i had my first bp it was in a tank it pushed the top off one night the next day i found him underneath the tank he squeezed himself under it somehow. also i think it will look for a dark hiding spot thats warm before it would go towards a heat lamp , so keep that in mind

this happened twice to me, the first time was a corn snake i had in a ten gallon tank, we found him dead in the basement. his tank was on the second floor. the last one was my female bp. she got out and stayed in the same room, my wife found her and when i came home she(the bp) was under my son dresser two feet away from her tank.

    Re: She got Out!!!
One time I lost my bp and pretty much turned my house and room upside down three times before I found her wedged in a small box, in my closet, that I used to keep figurines in.
It was stuffed full so I couldn't imagine how she would be in there. Shes 3ft long but she managed.

Don't underestimate the size of the hole or space she could fit into. In fact they love tight places. Good luck finding her. :snake:

I haven't found her yet. I am still looking. I have turned my room upside down twice. The bad thing is she was a hatchling and she could be anywhere.
