    Introducing.....Buddy!
Well thanks to the big heart and generousity of Adam Wysocki, this gorgeous little male BP arrived just a few moments ago. He is an 06 66% het for Axanthic male that is registered to our 5 year old son, Mikey. Mikey as most of you may remember lost his lovely 06 female snake, that Chris had gifted him, a few weeks back (we are still praying she will show up) and was heartbroken. He knows that today a snake will be here for him when he comes in from school and is VERY excited about that though still searching for his Helori every day.

It was a big deal to name this special snake (for a time he even considered "Wysocki" but the poor kid couldn't spell it LOL) but before bed last night he settled on "Buddy" since he and his snake will be buddies for life. So here he is....

Buddy fresh out of his nice warm packing box and in Mike's hands. Adam, Mike was amazed at your packing! He's never had the pleasure of being home for an 8Ball delivery and was just blown away by it (okay he was like a kid at Xmas and wouldn't let me near the darn box LOL)....
    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...rivedJan07.jpg

    Nice shot of his pattern....
    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...BuddyJan07.jpg

Full body shot...he's so good looking!....
    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...thomeJan07.jpg

He's very fiesty and quickly decided this crazy lady with the camera in his face was NOT a smart human....boy can he strike fast for a baby LOL!...
    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...hecamJan07.jpg

Buddy reminding me this is his "business end", we love snakes with a nice bit of a fiery attitude to them and he's just perfect!
    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ameraJan07.jpg

Well that's it for now, more pics to come either tonight or tomorrow of Mikey holding his new scaley best friend. Buddy's all tucked into his warm home and checking out the new digs.

Thanks again Adam. You sure made everyone's day here and we LOVE the paperwork in young Michael's name and the cute t-shirt. He already asked his new teacher yesterday if he can bring his snake to visit his classroom come spring when it's warm enough. :)

He's sure a cutie but then all of Adam's babies are! Can't wait to get some pics of Mikey with him in his very cool 8Ball t-shirt. By the way Adam, your t-shirts are the "in" thing in our house. I swear all the family wants to buy more snakes from you just to get the shirts LOL! Just peeked in to check on Buddy and he's propped up on his hide looking around. I have a feeling he'll be a super eater just like Malachi is and we've some yummy fuzzy rats that have his name on em! :)

I think Buddy is about the coolest name ever for that little guy ... among all the visible morphs that I'm holding back in my baby racks that little guy held his own and was my little buddy here at the shop ... I'm wicked stoked that he gets to go to such a good home!

I am honored to be able to put a smile on Mikeys face with an animal that I produced.

And FWIW, I can't spell Wysocki either most days ... Buddy is a much better choice. ;)

Thank you Jo, Mike, and Mikey ... I know you guys will give my little boy a great home!

Awww now I'm all misty eyed Adam! We're honored to give him a lifelong home and we know Mikey will enjoy him as much as Luke and Beth enjoy their own "personal" snakes. It's a wonderful thing to watch a child interact with such a beautiful creature, learn about it and respect it for it's uniqueness as a pet. We had intended to keep Mikey home today to receive this special package but since he just started his new school yesterday, we had to send him this morning (he was LESS than impressed LOL). I know though when he gets home today he'll want to go see his Buddy boy right away. :)

Oh, before I forget ... there is a good chance that he may actually be a 100% Het VPI Axanthic ... his mom was a 100% het axanthic that was doing absolutely zippy with my axanthic male last breeding season ... November, December, January ... nothing ... then I started running one of my het male axanthics with her and they locked up every time I paired them up ... once her follicles got fairly large I started putting my axanthic male back in and they started finally locking up as well ... The ratio was out of 6 eggs; 4 axanthics and 2 normal looking animals (that I labeled 66% possible hets) ... the ratio of axanthics to normal looking animals and the late copulations with the axanthic male could mean that he was the sire and that the normal looking babies are 100% hets, but without knowing for sure I couldn't label them as anything other than possible hets.

Not sure if that matters much at all, but that's the background on that boy. :D

Always nice to know hon and thanks. I've labelled him a 66%er for now and he's just meant as a beloved pet anyways but heck if Mikey wants to try him down the road with a 100% female and see what happens, we're all for that. Luke and Beth have both started the planning stages for breeding their own snakes at least once, so if Mikey wants to try this as well some years down the road that's fine with us. We love baby snakes be they hets, morphs or normals! :)

i'm just so pleased for everyone involved in this. jo, for the joy she gets to experience watching her son 'bliss out'. mike for the honour of seeing another adult make his son's day. mikey, for the double experience of kindness of strangers. he may not know cue and adam as jo does but he feels their kindness regardless... beautiful lesson in that.

and adam... i know first hand how 'gifting' lights up your life. i can only imagine how brightly you are glowing right now.

and finally cue... you gifted to mikey first and that kindness will never be forgotten anymore than helori will be forgotten by any of those who were blessed to meet her.

Bizzarely I always consider the "other" end the buisness end :P as it's the end that gives me all the work. Just to focused on "output" I suspect.

Very well said Aleesha and more so than perhaps you know dear.

As some of you know from private conversations with me, young Michael had to recently change schools in the midst of the whole Helori upset. For reasons of his physical safety and emotional wellbeing it was best for him to be in no further contact with his kindergarten teacher (and yes there is a Board of Ed investigation brewing  ) Why I'm mentioning this is just to reaffirm that these two gifts....Chris with Helori and then Adam with Buddy...are more than two generous men and two small snakes. They are a lesson we are using to help our small son understand that not all adults are mean or scarey. That these two men who he's never met cared enough to give him joy for no other reason than they wanted to make him happy. That's a lesson that right now our son needs rather badly as he settles into a new school and learns to trust again. I hope Adam and Chris know in these few simple words just how very much their actions have meant, far beyond this world of snakes.

Thanks guys, from Mike and I and one very happy little herper, Mikey. I hope someday to give both of you the huge hugs you so richly deserve!

I'll take some pics tonight of Mikey in his 8Ball tshirt and a few later this week of Mikey and Buddy once his little snake has had a chance to have a meal and settle in properly.

P.S. Tim I don't have a top of the head pic of Buddy but I'll get one when I can. If it matters he does have a oddly shaped light marking on the top of his head, not quite like the almost mickey mouse shape of the one that Riordan, the male YB has but a definite much lighter shape on the very top of his head.

    Re: Introducing.....Buddy!
this is the beauty of kindness. often when we gift an act of kindness... whether it's words, actions or physical possessions, we are not aware of how deeply the act itself affects the receiver.

it's so easy to be nice. to be kind. to be loving. it's so natural to care. i hope mikey is able to, one day, take this wonderful gift and give it away (the lesson not the snake) so someone else may learn it as well.

    Re: Introducing.....Buddy!
Thank you Aleesha, that's a beautiful thought and one I hope for all my children. That they may know that the world though sometimes a crazy place has room in it for kindess and giving so they can become the kind of adult that "pays it forward".

Now on to the promised pic! Here you go Adam. Mikey thinks you, his snake and this t-shirt are all THUMBS WAY UP! (or using his current favorite word for all things that please him...."it's sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!" LOL)

    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...Mikey8Ball.jpg

Only problem at this point Adam is the kid slept in this t-shirt last night, he's insisting on sleeping in it again tonight! I may have to steal it away during school tomorrow to wash the darn thing since he won't take it off willingly LOL. Of course tomorrow is "dress down day" at his school so I'm thinking since he doesn't have to wear his uniform that the t-shirt is heading off to school as well...geesh! :)

Nope no slogan. Adam told me he did a kid friendly edit on that LOL. His new school probably already wonders about our family with Mikey busy telling all about his new "pet" at school today. His teacher sort of gave me an odd look this morning when he was telling her all about it in the coat cubby area. LOL

Yep Kim it's a favorite movie around here and Mikey is VERY like that child in the movie. Even the peeing against walls thing...we had to "retrain" Mikey a bit this past spring. He was mad he couldn't whip it out and wee on the trees here in the city. After growing up in the country where if he was outside playing he could just "water the trees" in the backyard....well such things just don't cut it in the big city and Mikey just couldn't figure out the difference and why his momma had a problem with this LMAO! He's a hilarious kid! Keeps us in stitches around here with his 5 year old observations of life.

Just a quick update here folks. Little Buddy is doing beautifully and slammed down a fuzzy rat last night. Mikey fed his snake himself and did VERY well other than we did have to leave Buddy alone for the actual kill bit. Mikey was too jumpy and wiggly and was distracting his little scale friend. We did however slip back in and Mikey got to quietly watch Buddy eating. His comment was a very pleased "GOOD JOB BUDDY!"
