So I finally got sucked in to the Blood world

I've always been fascinated by them since the very first time I saw one. Oh and I blame all of you on here who have one or more.... talking about yours and posting pictures didn't help me out any. I also blame the guys I work with.... who all love them, have them, or want a few. LOL

This evening I drove over to the guys house that had them. I got to handle and see them all. Got to pick whatever one I wanted out of the one's that were not already "sold". Held them, looked at 'em all, looked in to how they were eating, their temperament, and how their colors/patterns were.

A few where jumpy and kept striking at the air.... Some were smaller then others, and some were just ugly. I then came across this one who was chill, eating f/t mice like a champ (he's a little chunker - 192 grams), he had a different pattern, and well was very different looking from the others. Not the best looking one in the word but I liked him out of everyone else.

Thinking along the lines of coffee, I'd go with naming him Sula (Sulawesi) short for the starbucks coffee that they describe as the following:

I love his pattern how he kinda has a broken stripe going on in a stripe section. Welcome to the world of bloods and short tails :)

I think that he's a really awesome looking blood. That is one more snake I plan to add to my household in the future; I figure, once my BCI outgrows his cage (it is large enough for a blood to permanently live in.)

What kind of cage do you have your BCI in now? I've been looking in to getting two cages - one for my BCI when she gets bigger and one for this blood when he gets bigger. The blood won't need one any time soon, but my BCI - she is growing like a weed. So in the next few months I'll have to purchase a good sturdy / lockable cage for her.

Oh and I finally found a good use for those rubbermaid tub lids. LOL they make nice "backgrounds" for pictures.

Have you seen Animal Plastics cages? I'm going to get a couple T13's for my bloods.

Oh I just checked that out - looks nice! Yes that is exactly what I'm looking to get.

Also consider the Animal Plastics T-10 size/style - this particular size works *extremely* well for bloods, and isn't quite so bulky.
