Just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. I love working with large snakes and a friend of mine from myspace referred me here. Anyways, I have several retics, a couple burms, an anaconda, and then some other medium sized pythons. Looking forward to talking with everyone here... thanks.

Re: new here
dr. satan, I sure wish I could have, but everything started falling through and the time it was going to take to build it the way it should be built, I just didn't have... I feel pretty bad about not doing it. I was looking through some of the recent links on here though and your retics are looking pretty good, I'm glad somebody told me about this one... so what projects are you working on right now?

Re: new here
YEAH more retic keepers!!

Re: new here
WOW I enter your website and that stripe carpet is just wonderfull
-
Re: new here
thank you very much, I know what you mean about that carpet, I couldn't believe my eyes when I found him at a reptile show about a year and a half ago. He was tiny back then and luckily I was there when they opened because I still had to fight another guy for him... I just hope it is genetic, but he was sold with that other female that was marked "het stripe"... it's just so hard to tell what they actually are, I guess we won't know til next year... :)

i dont know if you remeber but we chatted on the phone a while back... i know how it is being in school and all, sometimes i wish there were more time in the day lol. i have the abiltiy to produce maps through ESRI database and ArcMap... so if you ever want to we can get together and see if what we come up with as far as locality maps.
right now i am waiting on two females to drop... albino tigers, albinos, and het anthrax! :)

Re: new here
well that'll be nice... :) I would like to try to put something together one day when I do have the time. School is just getting crazy and I won't have a break until I graduate in Dec, and then the challenges of real life... man, this next year's going to be fun... anyways, I'd love to see some new pictures of your snakes, and it's cool you're on here...

Re: new here
Love that weird male burm.. and the annie. How big is it and male or female? My green is pretty small thus far..
-
Re: new here
my green's a male and he's 10 ft... he's been fasting recently so I'm still working on him picking up food again, he's three years old... how big is yours now?
-
Re: new here
it would be great if the artwork on your website opened to a larger image. gorgeous work!!!

Re: new here
Mine's around 4-5' I'd guess.. I just got him a few weeks ago. Haven't gotten him to eat yet.
I also have three yellow anacondas..
-
Re: new here
shelby, what is he eating now...? hopefully it will eat for you soon and good luck with it... Is it aggressive or pretty friendly?
recycl. goddess, which artwork are you referring to? I'm working on getting the photography section up and running but it just takes so much time to get it all done... well thank you to whichever one's you're talking about...

Re: new here
Congrats! You have a very nice collection there!

Re: new here
Well, the guy I bought him from told me he'd eat f/t rats left in the cage. I've tried this twice to no avail.
As far as condas go he's fairly laid back. I haven't had him out for handling much though since I don't want to stress him out. He did bite the guy at the show before I bought him though lol..

Re: new here
those snakes are gorgeous...especially #2
-
Re: new here
that's alright, fairly laid back is a good start... :) the best thing about mine is how friendly he is, he hasn't shown one single sign on aggression since I got him, I can just reach in and pet him, pick him up, whatever... and he's even friendly to deal with after he eats, its' crazy that a green annie could be this nice...
-
Re: new here
Yes.. well he's certainly better behaved than my female yellow.. she'll go for your face if you let her!

i never go into the cage without tapping with a hook , even with my most mellow retics... to a snake laying in wait, your body heat is like a big neon sign that says "eat me".

Re: new here
well, I don't just reach right at his face... I let him know I'm there before I just grab him, sorry, should have clarified that better, thank you...

sorry man i wasnt bustin your balls... i posted that for "other" people to read.

Re: new here
I understand completely... I've had the misfortuned of getting nailed a couple times by bigger snakes and I don't really want that to happen again... especially with the anaconda... so thanks, people need to realize no matter how "tame" or friendly they are they can have their days and the day you just reach in to grab it could be that bad day...

Re: new here
i know its easy to anthropomorphize wild animals (we are all guilty of it)... especially when you get use to their temperment... i strongly beleive that when dealing with large boids one needs to follow a strict handlining routine... i think developing good handling and feeding habits is key in preventing accidents.
in my opinion, its never a snakes fault for doing what it does naturally.
your snakes are really nice blake and i cant wait to see you start breeding them!!
