Call me a idiot but i've been looking at pics of black pastels and I can't see what makes them a black pastel and not a normal... Can someone clear this up for me and tell me the defining characteristics of a black pastel.. and since you're at it a cinnamin pastel
Thanks

Re: Black Pastels.
Black pastels have the black markings within the alien heads, darker eyes and a light brown head.

Thanks LadyOhh thats what I was wanting..
I had already looked at the pics and if you don't know what to be looking for you can't necesarily see the differences. Especially if looking at a normal that isn't quite obviously a normal. I have a normal that to the untrained eye looks alot more like a cinnamin pastel than a normal especially when you compare her to the 2 pics in the first posting.

I think the black pastel is one of my favorite morphs.

Re: Black Pastels.
I think the black pastel and cinnamon pastels are very cool snakes and their potential with combos hasn't been completely tapped yet IMHO. When you see good examples like Ed's and compare them to normals, the differences are very clear.
Here is my cinnamon female on the left and my largest male black pastel (Ian G's line) on the right.
yes the are amazing..But what for other nice combo's are there with that Morph ?
What do you get when you put a Spider x Black pastel

NERD produced a Cinnamon X Spider which they call the Cinnabee and is essentially the same thing as a Spider X Black Pastel.

Someone asked for a pic of a breeder, heres a 7 plus year old male that has been breeding since november. I started breeding early this year and it seems to be paying off big time! :) http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1170725059

Thanks. I think she is amazing! I purchased her from Mike Wilbanks at Daytona a while back. This season she is locking up but not as well as some of my other females. I'll just have to wait to see and do the midnight naked egg dance.

Ed, I agree totally. The combos with cinnys and black pastels are virtually untapped. In addition, the price of the morph is very reasonable so more people can get into this project - unlike my calico project. I think we'll see some really awesome combos produced this year and for years to come . . . especially from good "stock" like Ed's.
