lost my virginity today

Well I went to my first reptile show today! It was not all I was expecting, but then again, this was not supposed to be a large show. There were dozens of burms and retics with a few afrocks for sale! Corns were a many there as were boas. There were very few ball pythons, mostly babies and some het this and that. I picked up 2 1100 gram WC females to try out my luck and see. They will be quarantined extensively to be safe and hopefully will breed for me.

congrats! i love herp shows even if they are really small.

I love going to shows. I just wish there were some closer to me. Driving 3+ hours kinda sucks.

I went to my first show in October
and fell crazy in love with about 100 different animals :sunny:

lucky for me there's a show twice a year about 90 minutes from my home. I'll be at every one I can from now on!
I kind of knew what to expect because I have been traveling to Cichlid shows for many years now. Love it!

Sorry no pics. Nothing there really caught my eye except for a lesser bee from big daddy wholesale. Nothing real special or out of the ordinary. They did have 2 burms that looked to be about 7 feet each though stuffed in a plastic tub and the whole hour we were there they were just stuck in there.

Umm please tell me you did not touch or buy anything of his :eek: :( .Incase someone does not know why i am asking this just think IBD! I am not talking about tmlowe5704 either.

Yikes! The Big Daddy thing caught my eye too. I've read the IBD thread about him, and I have to admit I'd be a little worried about attending a show he was at too. I just don't know enough about IBD to take the chance of risking my babies.

Anyone know of a show thats gonna be close to Charlotte, NC this year? I've never been to a rep show either and i've been dying to go. When is the Daytona one?

Yea I know, thank god the guy I got mine from was 2 rows over. That was close enough for me. I don't know who it was talking to me from BDW but he was kind of creepy just kind of sitting over my shoulder. I only stopped there because of the caramel albino that caught my eye. There were also some pastels there that were UGLY. I forgot what vendor had them, but the prices they were asking for them was unreal. I got a good price on the WC and I figured I could sell them to a pet shop for at least what I bought them for so really only lost money is on feeding. I was glad to pick up a big bag of harlan bedding too while I was there.

No, nothing on his tabe was touched. Only animals that were handled by me were the balls that I bought from G&G Rodent & Reptile Farms and a parrot that was on display. There were some gorgeous dumeril's there and I almost had to beat my girlfriend with a snake bag to get her to stop trying to convince me to bring home an albino burm.

Went to the show today too....nothing too impressive....cheap nile monitors, burms, and afrocks....

...I did finally join the Louisiana Gulf Coast Herp Society though so that is a plus :)

Thats cool as i was sure you knew about him and his IBD.Now if it was myself that was at that show i would have asked him "which snakes have IBD for sure" then i would say "o never mind i guess they all have it" lol.People like him should not be able to attend shows let alone be a vendor.

Well i have alerted at least one more person about him now :) .You never know where he will show up.I heard he was up by New York or in that close area.

Ah, I'm assuming this was at the Alario Center? I was there. I bought a hypo miami corn snake. I wanted so badly to get a carpet python but I didn't have enough money on me. Sucks, I know. I hate car insurance. :P

I saw that lesser bee! He had a lot of ball pythons. IBD? Ohmygod. Good thing I didn't touch any of them. Jeez. I talked with that guy for like 30 minutes. He had a caramel albino that caught my eye. He also had a super pastel as well a ghost, a pastel, some hets, and a pastel yellow belly. I think there was some spiders, too.

EDIT: LOL. I didn't realize that tmlowe5704 said the same thing about the caramel albino. We have good taste. :D

I talked to they people that put it on and that is the largest show they have had in a long time.. Congrats! on the new snakes. Good luck with them
