Images of COLD
Ok...I realize there are lots of other places in the country that can show far more dramatic pictures of cold-ness....but this is San Antonio...it's not supposed to look like this here! LOL
Icecicles growing sideways!

More funky icecicle formations...

Our home with an icy frosting...

It's almost all melted now...but it sure was pretty while it lasted!

Re: Images of COLD
Judy, What a nice home. I hope that you are getting settled in good. I saw that the temps in San Antonio were absolutely abysmal. And wondered about you.
When I worked on the flight-line we used to have to use the ECUs to heat up ourselves and forgett about the planes and choppers -- but that was Korea.
Keep warm,

Re: Images of COLD
Brrrr.... Very cool pics, or should I say cold? We had those sideways icicles last year. All we've had this year is some slick sidewalks. (almost fell on my rear end taking my son to school yesterday) It's bad when we walked to school this morning and I though 32 was positively balmy. :giggle: Wednesday morning was miserable. The kids were all bundled up in the wagon, and it was freezing!!!

Re: Images of COLD
Thanks for the nice compliments!
I love my little balcony. That's off the master bedroom. When we lived here last time, hubby and I would sit out there on balmy evenings and watch the sunset and local bats chase bugs around the rooftops. Always a great way to unwind from a long day.

Re: Images of COLD
Brrr! Your landscape looks like it did a few days ago here; granted, we are in western NY...!
I am seriously fearing the climate future in this country and on this earth..

Thankee thankee, Jo and everyone! :D Not sure about the sideways 'cicles...I figured they formed normally and then the branch holding them up just bent over...but it didn't look like any of the branches were drooping that deeply. Definitely an fascinating effect!

Icicles form from frozen water. The snow in the air begins to melt when it touches the tree branches which are warmer than the surounding air. Then, when the wind blows from the side the water re-freezes sideways. It is really cool!!!
