    Cats Help....
    Hey Hey,

Questions for you all about cats.
I love love love love kitties.
Every night after supper about 8 or 9 or even 10.
I go out and have a cigar in the winter weather and everyday across the street a hear a cat HOWL. She is just given'er. It sounds like she is dying or given birth or something.

I wanna go over and see what is up but I would have to walk in other peoples yards and theres a big fence and I might not even see much anyway.

I think she is under the deck, and to me that sounds like she is having babies??
All the other cats seem to hang around there too checking out the sceen.
We have a cat infestation in our neighbourhood.

What do you all think I should do???
Walk over? and try to get a peek??

I'm worried, we just had a huge storm and if there is kitties they might all die in the snow. For all I know they might be gone now??? Its been like this for the past week or more now.

cats are notorious for keeping themselves safe. if she was giving birth, the mother will bring them to another place to keep warm

It could be a female letting all the males in earshot know that she's in season.

If it's happening every evening it's not a cat giving birth and most creatures when they do give birth (especially feral cats) do so silently. To advertise a birth like that would invite predators and their instincts know that. It's likely either a female in heat calling for males or males yowling at each other for breeding and territory rights.

Yeah, cats mating or fighting both sound just awful. If it were truly in that much agony, it would not have survived this long.

Worst I ever heard was a neighbour's Siamese cat. Omg those things can make the most ungodly sounds when they get upset. We thought at first someone was beating a baby, it sounded just like an infant in terrible pain. Went running outside ready to find this poor baby being hurt and here's the silly big male Siamese from next door having a word with another tom cat. They seem to have a vocal range that other cats just can't manage.

Its a feral cat in heat. I used to have a cat that would howl like no other when in heat and it was so annoying. It would last for days. She is fixed now though and lives with my mom. But thats more than likely what it is. Especially if there are a bunch of other cats hanging around. Bet ya they are all male lol.

I saw the cat in the open yesterday.

It's sad really though that so many cats which may have been someone's pet at some point end up on the streets, unfixed and breeding. We are trying to catch some feral half-grown kittens that live next door. Such lovely cats to be running wild and probably breeding far too young. It snowed last night and I worry about the little things. :(

we have such an awful problem here with abandoned and feral cats. apartment complexes are flooded with them and anywhere that there is a dumpster is home to so many cats it is unreal. both of my kitties are pets that were dumped at my old apartment complex. it's impossible to find homes for cats--everyone already has cats that they took in themselves. :(
