My My, how they grow!!

Our boy, Carpet has doubled his size since we acquire him, what suprises me is that his color get much more vivid as he grows. I didn't expect that!!:D He eats 2 mice every 10 days. Still nippy, but getting better.

When I got him months ago he would wrap around my finger 3 times, Now it's 3 coils around the wrist. Don't laugh too hard about my method of measuring, he's still such a wild man it's hard to do anything with him. Never holds still unless he's clamped down on my glove. He's getting better, but I still upped the handling time. :)

Great carpet you got there!!! Where did you get him from? Good color for being so small, and I love all the black. Keep the pics coming on him!!!

Actually my girlfriend found him at a petshop and since I like the carpets she insisted on bringing him/her home. Hasn't been sexed yet. Don't plan on breeding so I guess it's not too important. Actually he appeared somewhat dull when we got him. The color just keeps coming.

he's gorgeous! i love your method of measuring ;) when i want something - i hold my hands apart and my hubby walks up to me with a measuring tape... measures the space between my hands and then makes me whatever it was i was asking for LOL funniest part of this story... his mom used to do the same thing with his dad... and since they both passed away before i met him, i didn't pick it up from them...

Even in my show dogs people ask their height, I hold my hand up say ,"about that high". Drives them crazy, especially the great dane people. If they have 20 dogs they can rattle off each ones height to a quarter of an inch. As long as their height doesn't disqualify them I'm not concerned.:)

SHEXY! There's a full gron JCP at my local reptile store. Man If I brought that home my grandma would probably freak out.

Thanks, he didn't look near that nice when we got him. Duller in color and very thin. I have a previous shot of him in my gallery. The improvement doesn't shock me too much though. Petshops usually aren't known for their good husbandry practices,:(

Carpets are funny snakes to watch grow.....everytime time I feed mine it seems like the lenght of the rat is added to them.....they just keep getting longer and longer....

Awesome coloration on that guy. I hear you about measurements; everyone asks me how many hands my horses are high (a "hand" is four inches), and I just guess.. I have had them here for over a year and worked with them for a few years before that; you would think I'd know, but life is busy!
