Trying to sell a adult Ball Python. I am new at selling.
Well i have a 3 1/2-4 foot long 4 year old ball python and i want to get something different but i wont to get rid of my ball python. Its just a normal male ball python, and the stuff i want to sell with it is a 30 gallon tank with no scratches on the glass, a heat lamp, mesh tank cover, extra bedding, heat rock, water bowl, driftwood.
Its a really good set up i think. I was thinking of posting it in my local newspaper so sell him locally to someone.
I really dont know how much I can get for the snake and set up. I was guessing like $200 obo for everything.

But my question is how much do you think i can sell everything for? Well thinks for the info. :)

A Tegu is going to need a pretty big tank-----so depending on your room size and size of the aquarium-----your going to need a lot of room (Are you prepared?) Also if you become "bored" of an adult sized tegu, its going to be pretty tough to just "get rid of" something else to think about.......hope this helps!

They get very hot and can burn the snake. They also don't do much when it comes to heating the tank.

with ball pythons, and almost any animal that requires heat----need a heat source that you can regulate the heat! a heat rock does the heating part fine, but it also doesn't know when to stop heating-----so like a Ball python, you need a hot side of 90-92 deg. the heat rock could heat up to 100-150 depending on what type it is, and could burn the animal very bad-----this is why people use heating pads with a thermostat----to regulate heat

You might get $200 for a local sale with the tank and all. But you would have trouble shipping the tank, shipping costs would be more than its worth.

Adult male balls are pretty common among breeders/collectors. Ive seen them go from any where in the range of $35 to $100 (for a nice one), plus shipping.

From the shows ive been to, the average price for an adult male ball was $50.

Good luck with the Tegu or Aqaurium. We have a 210 gallon reef tank in our den...i love salt water setups

a used tank usually sells for about $10 - adult male ball pythons aren't worth anything ($$ value) as no one really wants a male ball python.

i would just try to find it a good home and ask for maybe $50 OBO

just my opinion... doesn't make me right.

they aren't worth anything....in a breeders market. Out in the regular world with regular people, I see unsexed ball pythons listed for $100 all the time.

If you try selling on specialized ball python or snake sites like this one, you'll get maybe $30-$60 for the snake since it's a male. You'll probably never sell the tank and extras either because a.) you can't find someone local (shipping isn't really worth it to the buyer or b.) the person you are selling to already has a rack system with an empty spot in it.

However, if you try to sell in the local paper or an online equivelent, i'de go with $200 obo for the whole setup (all that stuff from petco aint cheap!). You could get more $ for the snake AND get rid of the stuff to go with it. This option would also be less stressful for the snake because it gets to keep its home and not be shipped.

Who ever you sell it too, just do the snake a favor and make sure he's going to a good, knowledgeable home ;)

If noone buys your male I'd take him for cheap. (if you can ship him that is) But I doubt I would pay anything more than 40 dollars for him. Without the cage and accessories of course. Just him. Let me know if you can ship.

You know, a friend of mine sold an adult male ball in the local trading post magazine for $250 with the setup...trying to sell a male ball to people with reproduction in mind doesn't work, but for someone looking for a pet, it doesn't matter if they lay eggs or not. A selling point was acutally the fact that it was a male and wouldn't get as large as the females.

Try listing it on craigslist, I bet you'd get some hits on it...
