if you think about investing in some snakes, breeding, and selling the babies, yes, you might get some profit, but definatley not a 6 figure, AND did they seriously consider the care for them? food, substrate, possible vet bills, set up, all of that costs money too.

I don't think he's trying to tell you how to breed, but rather selling you a program to show you how to market your business - at least that's what I got out of it.


However, you can get the same information at the library.

exactly. They pitch the SAME crap to you on those infomercials at 2am. "how to become a trillionaire working part time"...it's all the real-estate stuff that that you can find by doing a little research. but by the time you're done putting money in someone else's pocket because you want the easy route to becoming rich, you fork over the money to find out how to become rich...is this not the exact same business practice?

you don't need to spend the hundred bucks this guy is asking for to know that first you gotta buy quality snakes, then you gotta house them, then you gotta feed them and care for them, then you gotta use a little common sense and sell your animals.

this guy says he's been in the biz for about 5 or 6 years...Ok he's got some experience...but i've never heard of him..and now he's the know-it-all master? ah no. anyone that buys into this b/s is simply filling his pockets with more money. he's a business man. he's a go-getter. nothin wrong with that...but c'mon...MILLIONAIRE OFF REPTILES!! puh-leez

Actually, I know a breeder who has made six figures from snake breeding(over two decades of doing so, mind you... God knows how much he has also spent doing so)
But to view the reptiles as an object and nothing more is disgusting. The only reason I have any desire to breed BPs is because I have had a great time with mine and would like to share that with other people who feel the same.

I don't doubt one bit that that is possible. there's plenty of people that make a comfortable living by breeding and selling reptiles...but this guy makes it seem like it's an over night quick buck thing.

If everyone buys this with the impression that they'll become millionaires, then they better be prepared for a big upset. This is one business that takes money to make money...and a lot of it.

im not so much worried about people loosing money over this gold rush article thing, beecause that is their own silly mistake for believing it, but i am worried that if non-herpers see this, and decide to try it out, that the snakes will not be in a good situation (as in the article makes everything sound so easy, and they probably dont know about the husbandry care that is involved).

I saw the ad for it in Reptile magazine. If it was "how to market your ball python business" etc. then it might not be so ridiculous, but "MAKE MILLIONS" takes away his credibility and places him in the 2 AM infomercial category, in my opinion.

what bothered me was the way that he said that people with Ph.D's in herpetology didnt know the first thing about starting and operating a business. a Ph.D is more for studying reptiles,not just selling them. IF i decide to change my major to herpetology,i'll use it to study snakes and not to get rich or anything.

Im sure there are people who have made around a million or 2 fof of REPTILE breeding. Maybe Mike W. from all his exspencive morphs that he has made and gotten.


EDIT- I got to reading more, and he is basicly selling a how to buisness softwear thing for your computer based on reptile breeding. I also didn't see a way to order. I think this is some sort of scam. Wierd!
