Hotmail? WHAT!?!? Advice please......

So, I'm in the position of needing a new personal Email address... Someone suggested Hotmail... Any thoughts? Hopefully there will be Time Warner DSL hooked up here within a week??? Excuse my ignorance.... but will that come with a Email service!?!? I've been using Microsoft... Concerns, bank statements, etc.........

It's not super fancy but it always works and nice to be able to easily get on from any place at any time :sunny:

I bet it's just as secure as anything out there :8:

yahoo.com has a VERY simplistic, yet very user-friendly, free email service. It also has in a SPAM blocker, which is helpful. I'd give that a try... I don't have much experience with hotmail, so I can't really give you advice on that.

Gmail is pretty good if you want a free account its pretty easy to get setup. I have invites but so does every other Joe Shmo.

Trying to get a desktop working right now... He said when you try to do a scan disk, it keeps starting over, and saying something is trying to write to the drive...

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.....:rolleye2:

I've had Hotmail for a pretty long time and I like it. I use MSN messenger as well, and if you get a new e-mail while you are logged on to the messenger, it will alert you of your new e-mail. Hotmail gives you a lot of space for free, but if you don't use your account for over 30 days (I think), your mailbox and name will be deleted.

Also, I don't think Time Warner is a DSL provider, they supply cable connections. :P It should be way faster than that air card you were using, but that also depends on this desktop that you are going to be using.

I use Yahoo for my email; I have used it for years with no problems. Mark uses HughesNet, which is incorporated into our Internet service; he has troubles with it every other day, but my free Yahoo works great!

I just set up a hotmail..... looks pretty user "friendlly" :oops:

Just gotta see if the desk top is gonna work.........................:confused:
