The Het. Axanthic boy has been breeding already! For only being an 06' baby, he has put on weight like crazy, and he locked up with his second female today!!! :rockon:

Definitely ED! I can't wait to get some babies hatching over here! I cannot wait to prove out the 50% possible het. females :D

How much does he weigh? congrats on your boy lockin up with 2 girls! I wish I had another girl ready to go...I got a couple that should be ready next year...:rolleyes:

I haven't seen any lying around in the cage or anything. I don't think he is yet. I really don't think much will come from the breeding. The first was an accidental breeding, the second was to see if he would. I don't have my hopes up for anything being produced but theres a chance lol.

Seems like a load of stress on them if your not going to do it with the intent of haveing little ones.

I never said it was without intent of producing some hatchlings ;)

Do you know how to pop a hatchling snake to see what sex it is? If you do the same thing, gently, you should be able to push out the sperm plugs if there are any.

If he is producing sperm plugs I would continue to let them breed as long as the female is of the proper weight and is ready to mate, but if he isn't producing plugs, I'd toss a different male in with her so you don't loose a season. Even a normal male.. It's still always great to see little heads pop out of those eggs! :)

Well best of luck to you! there's definetly a chance of getting something out of it... My het pied from Adam is a good eater as well..

I know how to pop them. The female is 1,643 grams, so she's a good weight. I'm not expecting anything from them as he is still young, but who knows:D

Well if you are rolling the dice, might as well go all or nothing, right? :)

Thanks! That is true lol. I'm so used to breeding giant's, and even after getting a few clutches from ball pythons....it's still a bit weird lol.
