Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
Hi all ... we have been really busy lately with everything and have not had much time to post. Anyway we went to Florida for a wedding over the new year, and stopped to visit Greg Graziani yesterday on the way to Tampa. Here are a few pics ....
Killer Bee ....

Blue Eyed Lucy ....

Alyssa holding a Caramel ....

We saw lots of other cool stuff, and my wife managed to get bit by the Silver Streak :snake: ...... :rolleye2:
Greg was great, and I wish we would have had more time. He gave us a hands on demo on popping and let us hold whatever we wanted. I must say it was great to meet him in person and I hope to do more business with him in the future.

Re: Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
ahh man I wish I knew you were coming to town! Where was the wedding? You lucky S.O.B. for going over to graziani's... I've been trying to get in touch with him recently but I just keep getting his voicemail. Anyways, I'll be visiting him myself here as soon as I hear from him. I want to check out his animals, purchase one directly from him and definetly shake his hand for being the man! haha!
Great pictures though! thank you for sharing them! all of those snakes were rediculous!

Re: Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
We were in Cape Coral, but flew in to / out of Tampa. It was a little bit out of the way, but it was worth it. I know he has been busy lately, we happened to catch him when he was home and it worked out. They have a new building up, so he said is going to be really busy soon moving racks/animals. We were running so late I had to drive like mad to make our flight .... but it is good to be home.

Thanks, Greg was showing us a super cinnamon compared to the silver streak, (which has really darkened up). Alyssa and I were real close, and Dee kept inching closer. The streak did a 180 and nailer her from about 18" away .... I think Greg felt real bad but Dee handled it fine. It maybe 6 months before we get her to hanlde another snake around here though. :rolleye2:

Thanks Adam ... and you get some credit for helping build her confidence. She jumped right in to see and hold everything, and I think she is starting to realize she knows a lot about her hobby. She did great, the only thing she would not do was "pop" one. She did not want to "break" one of Gregs snakes ....:D

Not quite, her reactions are so slow I don't think she realized she got bit until the blood drops started, then she turned real flush. I give her credit, I know she was freaking out inside, but she stayed calm and cool ... she gave all the snakes a little more room for a while then that killer bee tried to nail her too. Like I said, it may be a while before she will hold one here....

Heck yeah man! that would be cool! Hopefully I'll have produced some offspring to show you  . but either way it would be real cool meeting another breeder and full time herper! I wish I had a bigger place or I'd offer you a place to crash, I'm only in a 650sq ft. apartment. Either way though it'd be cool to hangout and maybe even do some florida herping. Alot of wildlife out here all over the place!

For a long time for sure .... I was scared to touch it :D . He had a couple of Ivories too that were sweet, and a honey bee that was spectacular. I am going to have to make a BEL though, I was totally stunned because that was the first one he pulled out. The kids went ooooooohhhhhh...

Re: Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
I think a Lucy would be the ONLY expensive morph I'd ever buy. Those are just amazing.

Re: Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
Lucies are cool, and it was a really great trip. Holding that caramel was really cool, and I dont know if I have ever held a pinstripe either. The silver streak was AMAZING. I just love them so much, I have a weird thing for black animals, dogs, cats, snakes, whatever. Although the silver streak wasnt really black, it was close enough. We had a really great time, and it was really awesome. :D :D :D

Re: Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
Hey everyone. I'm new. I've been lurking for a few weeks and decided to finally join. I'm going to make a "Hi I'm, new post" later on, but wanted to chime in on this thread. I just got back from Greg's place to purchase a pastel and must agree that he is awesome and has some amazing animals. I first offered to meet somewhere neutral because I know some breeders don't like to bring strangers to their facilities, but he insisted I come to his place. It was awesome. I was giddy. And he mentioned that he had visitors recently and one got tagged by the bullet. haha. Yes the lucy was awesome. I like the silver bullet ok, but much preferred the super cinnies. They're nearly jet black. It doesn't even look like a bp. Honey bee was amazing too. He showed me the original pastel from Africa. It doesn't even look like a pastel. He also has a ghost that is very visibly blueish grey. What a great trip. Totally worth the 4 hour drive. I'm so happy we didn't meet in town (he lives in the sticks....."town" is about 30 miles away) I highly recommend looking to see what Greg has when you go to purchase your next snake. He really is a great guy and loves talking about and showing off his animals. We spent like an hour just chatting about snakes and reptiles.

Re: Visit to Graziani Reptiles (DUW!!!)
I guess I'll just tell ya a little about myself. I'm 24 currently. When I was 11 or 12 I got my first snake, a ball python. During the next 5 years I acquired another ball python, a red tail boa, a cal king, couple rat snakes, and some corn snakes. When I left for college my mother took care of them for a bit but got a little fed up with it. I didn't have the room at college and to be honest I had other things on my mind at the time, so I sold all of the snakes. Last year I met a guy at work who breeds green tree pythons, and he invited me to come to the Daytona expo with him. I was going to get one of his gtp's, but was totally amazed at how the ball python market had exploded. I've never seen so many ball pythons in my life, and in so many different morphs. It was like corn snakes! I remember reading about and seeing ads for Bob Clark's albino in Reptiles Mag and thinking it was amazing. Then I saw the price tag and my jaw dropped. If you had told me then that I would eventually have an albino I would not have believed you.
Ok so since the expo in August I've been consumed with snakes again. I love it. I knew something was missing from my life. :) I've been reading everything online and checking out breeders sites. Got a few books too. I'd like to try my hand at breeding, but not to make a living out of it. Just have fun and enjoy it and if I can sell some snakes and pay for the hobby and acquire the more expensive morphs, I'd be happy.
My first purchase was a het albino female baby. Albinos are probably my favorite. I've got a male albino coming soon. I also have two 700 gm normal females that may or may not be large enough next year. I plan to get a few larger females. I just purchased an 05 pastel male from Greg, so that's what I hope to breed next year as my first clutch. The het albino will have to wait 3 years unfortunately. :( I also like spiders and bumblebees a lot and plan to get a male spider and female pastel this year for bumblebees and/or super pastels. What a great hobby! I can't wait for the Daytona show and next fall. Can't some soon enough. Thanks for reading.
