I hope all copies and the original are either destroyed or retained by his family. The public does not need to see this and his wife and children do not need a beloved family member's last moments circulating all over the internet.

Okay my thoughts on this one...Wasn't Steve quoted as saying that if anything ever happened while dealing with animals that he wanted it shown since that was what he loved doing? Besides, there will always be that one copy somewhere for that "just in case" scenario later on. I don't believe that every copy is destroyed and in time, it will surface.

The report I heard on the news this morning said all but one tape was destroyed by the government after the investigation. The only existing tape was given to his wife.

That still just makes me want to cry when I think about it.
His death...not the destroying of the videos. I agree with his wife, if she doesn't want them all over the planet, they shouldn't be.

I agree as it would be very damageing for his family to see it all over the papers and such.

I think the destruction of these tapes is for the best. They don't need to be seen by anyone. They'd just end up on YouTube with the title of "Lol Croc Hunter pwnd!" I think we need to remember Mr. Irwin as the guy having a good ole' time wrestling a crocodile- not the guy being stung in the chest by a stingray.

Although I have no desire to see this footage I have a feeling one day it will end up on the internet.

I hope it doesnt ever get on the internet. There is no point. It would just be a little freak show for everyone that doesnt even care anything about him. No point.

The worst thing would be, if some low-life got ahold of it and used it as a moneymaking scheme.. now I am glad that has not happened..

Even though that Terri Irwin is said to have the only copy left, I know that copies were made that aren't yet known about.

I work at a TV station and it takes all of 5 minutes to copy the footage....if someone (intern, random employee, tape librarian) had the tape pass through their hands or has access to the raw footage and some basic knoledge of the dubbing process a copy could have been made that nobody knows about.

Its a shame, it should never come out, but I fear greed will fuel it to be shown.
