Joined the club...

*don't laugh too hard...but...

I put my pastel male in with my large female and I didn't notice too much interest between the two so I took him out waited a day or two and figured I'd put him back with her light some candles & put on some slow jamz...

I came home last night and apologized for interrupting before opening the tank and after doing so and lifting up the hidebox they were under, I found my 400gram male pastel lying alongside my 2500 girl on his side with his tail locked up with hers... Needless to say I'm extremely excited and praying for the best!:D


I didn't take any pictures because I had already felt guilty for being rude and interrupting...I didn't want to stress them any more than I already had by lifting the hidebox...

Now I'M part of the club... :cool: lol

Getting males to do their thing seems to be the easy part! Just make sure that you rest your male. 400 grams is definitely on the small side, and at this point in his life he'd be better off being focused more on eating and growing than with breeding .... congrats though, I hope he comes through for you.

Yeah, I know...I've heard of smaller breeding but I wouldn't have gone any smaller than he is right now...he was producing sperm plugs and begging to be introduced... He's getting rest though. He's on a strict schedule. As far as eating goes he's my best/most aggressive eater in my collection...

I know I shouldn't get too too excited about seeing them lock up but I can't help it. With this being my first breeding of ball pythons I'm just so happy to atleast see a lock. I'm just hoping for a clutch now... I'm going to go ahead and invest in a hovabator for incubation. I had thought about maternal incubation but I think for my first breeding I'm going to artificially incubate if she lays. I just want everything to go as smooth as possible. :rolleyes:

I had lowered the Temps last night in my apartment lowering the ambient room temp to 72-75 degrees (only for last night), I cut the heat lamp off and left the UTH on and also removed the Hidebox...(I've heard of some breeders leaving them in and some taking them out. I usually leave it in but I didn't want to disrupt them too much this morning checking them out...) anyways...


I came in and checked on them this morning and they were LOCKED!!! They were going at it like a... Ok I'm not going to go there but you get the picture! they were going at it! straight smashing...Ok I can't keep going on or I'm going to violate the T.O.S.

I tried to take a picture for a few minutes but this phone is garbage and the pictures wouldn't come out at all, the lighting was terrible and I was afraid that if I turned on the light that I would disrupt them or make them stop.

...ok well that was my update! I'm done now... Hoping for a big clutch!!!

1. Healthy snakes ready to breed
2. Adjust temps/lights/whatever
3. Put said snakes together
4. Pray!
5. See a lock....SCREAM and phone Adam
6. SCREAM in Adam's ear about how the snakes are doing "it" and they've been doing "it" for awhile (describe "it" in great detail, speaking very quickly whilst dancing about in your snake room, repeat details of said "it" in case Adam's missed the details the first time around)
7. Slam down phone, forgetting to say goodbye to Adam, call 6 other people
8. Phone Adam back, apologize for #7 and break into another detailed explanation of exactly whose tail is where
9. Peek repeated through sides of tub at mating snakes
10. Listen to your spouse/boss/roommate/parent explain that you have lost your mind and they are seriously considering divorce/firing you/moving out/calling the therapist AGAIN!

I just can't wait t'ill I come home to some eggs! I can just so see it...coming home from work or waking up in the morning and seeing her lay on a pile of eggs....*sigh* the thought brings a smile to my face!

Steven the most important thing though is this....you do have a camera fully charged and ready to document the eggs and the new baby BP's when they hatch don't you! You can't expect us BPNetters to go without pics...that would be just cruel!

I just have my phone for now.:oops: I actually bought a camera just for that reason for my girlfriend because that's what she had to have...and then she changed her mind and said that she "had'' to have new lingerie from victorias secret and jeans from buckle... It's cool I'm not complaining but I was going to put alot of mileage on that camera...now I have to place that mileage somewhere else, but like I said I'm not complaining lol...;)

I will be getting a camera soon...:rolleyes: But car problems just interrupted those plans so i'm set back another week or two...:(

I Love that picture too... It just excites me seeing that sight... normals or morphs...Humans or snakes... seeing a live breathing creature take it's first breaths of air, it's amazing.:rolleyes:

Hey it was Christmas, My girlfriend is honostly the coolest most understanding girl I could ever be blessed to be with. So whether it's a digi camera or a shopping spree at victoria's secret she's going to get what makes her happy which in return makes me happy. And honostly...I'm a sucker for boyshorts and she uh...yeah...she rocks them quite nicely...LOL!!!

I'll get a Digi Camera though for sure... I'm not buying any snakes for a while...atleast until feb! lol so as soon as I get my car fixed I'll get a digi camera so I can take all the pics...believe me!!! I'll have a "I just got a digi camera so now you guys with dial up will suffer severely lol" thread I know it's harsh but believe me... I'll get a Digi camera and you guys will be begging me to stop posting so many pictures hahaha!

Well wife was at work,kid was asleep(school night),freinds were asleep( work next day) so i just celebrated all by myself :( .Tis reason my dogs thought i was nuts lmao :P .

LoL...man, I know exactly what your saying... I ran into my living room where my family who's visiting had been sleeping and I so rudely woke everyone up to see what was taking place... I still don't think they were as excited about it as I was and still am but... it's all good! they got to watch snakes go at it! and that's what it's all about...:)

Oh I have this visual of your visiting relatives standing around, having been woken from a nice snooze, watching the snakes make out - which okay let's be honest, it's exciting from the viewpoint of breeding but it's about as visually exciting as watching paint dry. Heck even the snakes look bored and they are doing it!

I'll bet you at least one family member was thinking "hmmm did we drop him on his head as an infant?"

I'll tell you though, nothing bonds a family like watching snakes mate...yep...those are the times memories are made of. LMAOOOOOOOOO

Yeah, they definitely think I'm a little crazy, I'm sure... It is rather boring watching them go at it as well...Pathetically boring... But of course for breeding it's awesome! I could careless what my co workers, family members or anybody thinks...I'm downright siked lol! I'm or they I should say lol are making me more pastels! :D

He's all over the ladies but I haven't managed to catch a lock yet and he's currently on his rest cycle between females.
