    What will 2007 bring You?
What are your herpy plans for the oncoming new year?

Here are my BP plans:I have a Pastel male locked up with my normal, Ginger, and two normals locked up also; our LaVey and Mark's brother's female on loan. I am letting my new Spider male acclimate and then I plan on breeding him to Bela, who I left open for now, since she has a spotless pattern and I think she's a great match for a Spider. Aside from breeding, I have an '06 female normal, and two '06 males (one is the het) that I am growing up for future use. :) The male normal, is actually up for sale locally.

I also just bought a new horned frog juvi and a large albino clawed frog; no breeding there, as the eggs from the ACFs are quickly eaten by the fish in their tank (fine with me! Those suckers are a pain to raise into frogs; did it years ago.)

I redid my BCI cage for more of a display look, with eco-earth and a few rocks and fake plants.

That about covers it for my herping; you?

We're getting an Exo Terra terrarium for our White's tree frog at the next reptile expo on January 27. I might acquire my sister's '06 normal male (corn), and she may get a leo at the expo. I don't know of anything else.

Re: What will 2007 bring You?
I'm hoping to hatch out some ball python babies, hopefully a good number of pastels.
I'll breed the leopard geckos again. So I should get some more SHTCT's that are either het or dominate for bell albino.

The IJCP's should be ready to breed. Actually they're ready to breed now based on weight, but I don't have an enclosure large enough for both of them to breed in right now.

I've been thinking about getting another leopard gecko female genetic trait to work with, possibly a red stripe.

I should be able to find a nice dark headed black blood male.

Other than that, we'll see how it goes. I would like to acquire some gargoyle geckos and some more gopher snakes.

no breeding or anything here. I will in a few years, but for right now i have to raise up my pied and het. so i can have some pretty babies in the future. I was considering getting an adult female and breeding my male, but I have way too many pets already. 4 snakes, a horse, a dog, 3 rats, and fish is a lot of pets for a 16 year old to take care of. lol.

No more pets till I see what I can do about a second job. Even if I don't get a second job, 3 snakes is enough. But I do plan on FINALLY getting together with my best friend and getting our band going :)

Mines kinda cool.... too me atleast.

So During 2007, I plan on learning how to work with venomous snakes. One of the keepers told me that he would teach me at PHS and at his house since he keeps 9 venomous snakes. He plans on his Arizona black rattlesnakes breeding and he told me he would keep one for me until I was ready. That way I could LEGALY keep a CBB one here in AZ. (in the state of arizona, you cant sell, buy, and I believe trade any native snake but you can recieve one for free and catch them except for the 4 protected species)

Then I also plan on geting a black throat monitor. We have one at Phoenix Herp and I LOVE it. I understand it may not be the best first monitor but it wont be for a while and by time I do get it, I should have a decent amount of knowledge about them. I know the size would require a large cage but I have figured cageing out. You'll hear more in the monitor section when it gets closer to that time of me geting it.

Knowing I didnt have anything that I did this year planned out at the beginning of 06, there will deffently be more things pop up.

I will be getting a BP in January or Feb.

and some dart frogs later in the year.
That's all I have planned for 2007.....making myself wait until 2008 before I get any more snakes (planning on a BRB, GTP, and KSB ...waiting is so hard!)

Well as far as snakes go. I'm going to be snake-sitting my friends small corn snake till she is able to move into her own place in February or March. I think Gir (the snake) is a candy cane corn snake. I'm not sure. I'll get some pics up in the Corn section.

As for other pets. I plan on getting a new 56g aquarium for my fish, and possibly setting up a chameleon cage and get myself a chameleon. (If anyone owns one, can you answer my questions either through private message or on another thread?)

well... for 2007 my hubby will be building our rack and adam will be sending my my snakes... that he is so kindly caring for in the meantime :wuv:

we have 2 baby cockatiels right now and are waiting on the two other eggs to hatch out. we recently picked up a male parrotlet and will be breeding him to our 3 yr old female parrotlet this summer.

our rattie breeding program is waiting for our male to grow up a bit so he can breed the females... and i'm hoping that happens soon as i'm very much in need of this to get started.

i think we'll probably look at picking up a couple moreballs this year... later on (like in december) - i'd love to add a spider and an albino... so we'll see.

I'm hoping to get a few more morphs this year: mojave male, spider male, pastel female and a Het Lav albino females.....

Also I am hoping to continue growing my normal females (all 21 of them) up to breeding weight by the end of 07....Then 2008 might then be my first year "in the game".....Aside from that I want to work as much overtime at my job as possible..to pay for all of those plans.....

As soon as supplies come in the mail, we'll be putting together a "big girl" cage for Carmen, who's growing steadily and just about the sweetest thing ever. :wuv:

Cleo has been a bit finicky with feeding lately, so we're altering temps to see how she responds...

...from which I read about in my Christmas present, Python Manual by the Barkers. Amazing read - I know it's expensive, but I really, really recommend it. I can't tell you how many times I've read a passage and my first impulse was to quote it to you guys here. =) Still have many chapters to read; it's not fluffy reading!

Little Jenson continues to grow - has now tripled his weight since we brought him home 4 months ago (now 24g). I am loving watching him grow!

While it probably won't be in 2007, I now have official permission to get TWO MORE SNAKES!!!! (All I had to do was buy Rick a Xbox 360 - lol) So, I'm having fun trying to figure out what are my absolute top two snakes that a) I want and b) I can afford/want to spend. Which means, probably not a piebald bp, but...it'll be fun to do long term window shopping in 2007. =)

I'm looking forward to a lovely clutch of baby beauties *knocks on wood* And the way Neptune and Ma-tsu are going at it, so far so good! :D Randy beauties!

Sadly, I won't be keeping any of them though this time around nor will I be accumulating anymore snakes this year. Or rabbits or anything else. Not till after we move, which won't be till sometime in 2008. Mmm, snake room... then, all bets are off and my wish list is growing! ;) So for 2007, I'm settling for my first real breeding and hatching experience.

I guess I should have said "Ball Python Manual", since their "volume 1" was the python manual and the second one is specifically BP.
