Do you have strict "feeding days"?

I don't. I basically feed roughly once a week, but I do not adhere strictly to any set thing like "every Friday" etc. My bigger snakes eat less often, about once every ten days or so.. my smaller "growers" get fed roughly once a week, but let's say my rats are not up to size, I will give them a few days to grow a bit bigger (yes, ratlings can grow a lot in a few days!) Especially with 4 of my snakes actively breeding, a set schedule does not work, but they are all fat and happy (not overfed though..) So how about you?

I try and feed whenever they look hungry. If they are out prowling, I'll try and feed. This is of course easier when you only have a few snakes

i do, feeding day is sunday and i feed at 22:00 - 22:30.

its not like i keep to a strict schedule but that the way it just turns out.

I usually feed on the weekend, but that has varied more often in the last couple months.

Feeding day is usually saturday or sunday.

Lately it's been the night after I seperate the pastelxnormal pair. That way the get a night off to rest alone and offered food the next night.

I feed on mondays and thursdays. Mondays and thursdays for the corn and monday and somtimes thursday for the ball!!:carrot:

i used to have every body on the same schedule, but then i started giving the boa bigger food, and he only needs food once every 10 days, and then one of them refused...so everything got messed up. basically, i keep a chart on a calendar, and when i see they need food, i'll feed them.

i always feed on weekends because its easier for me. i dont stick to a strict day and time schedule though. sometimes ill skip a week or two to mix things up and keep them on there toes.

I feed every Wednesday between 6 and 9 in the morning. Cleaning days are monday.

Mondays for me..i hit up my rat suppliers every monday night because it's on the way home from work..

I feed every Tuesday sometime between 8:30 and 10 pm. He's usually out prowling by Monday night... Mainly because the largest F/T mice at PetSmart aren't quite the same girth as Simon's widest point. When I switch to a larger size feeder, I think I'll still feed him every week on Tuesday.

SO far I've fed on Mondays between 5:00am-8:00am and karma has taken one each time so far (even through shed). I feed him early because I watched his behavior and noticed when he moved around on his own it was usually around 5:30 am and arounf 12:30 am, so I figured he'd be more energetic to eat.

Every Friday for me.

Every Saturday here. Every one, from the littlest to the biggest is offered to. So far, all 15 are still eating like champs!

I usually feed on the weekends (sometime Friday afternoon through Sunday evening) because thats when I'm home from school. My bp's only eat live, so sometimes I have to skip weeks with them when live isn't available(I offer them f/t anyway, but they never take it.)

I've been on Winter Break from school and the schedule has been kind off.

I feed the same day I clean rodent cages, which I TRY to do on the weekends. Sometimes however I've got something else going on during the weekend and the rodents will get cleaned (and the snakes fed) when I have time the following week. In that case it can get pretty sporadic since I usually don't have time to clean ALL the rodents in one evening and end up spreading it out over several days. The snakes don't seem to mind though.

We try to feed every Sunday or Monday night. Some will eat, some won't (especially now with cooling down and breeding going on). If one doesn't eat, we don't offer again until the next week.


I don't want to hijack this thread, but I notice that some feed during the morning and others didn't say. As you answer, can you add when you feed if it is a specific time of day? It was my understanding that BPs should eat at night because that is their natural eating time. If others have been successful feeding during the day, that gives me more options. :carrot:

I feed my BP and corn every Saturday just after dark and my burm every other Saturday.

feed all 7 of my balls and my small BCI on wednesday nights F/T I heat it up and throw it in there. My big BCI gets fed every other thursday

Smaller meals every 4 days on the same day for all - They all eat consistently and never pass up a feeding :rockon:

All of mine get feed during the day no specific time here.

No specific time here either, but generally in the morning before I leave :)

My feeding day almost always lands on Sunday. I work Mon-Fri every week and the shop I get feeders from is closed by the time I get off of work. Saturdays are sometimes spent giving everyone fresh water so on Sunday I can usually just drop a meal in each tub and taking care of the snakes is done.

Sometimes I skip a week feeding my Borneo STP. I also have a smaller BP that is now on a more often than once a week schedule, so he eats between Sundays as well. I also have a Blue Beauty ratsnake that I like to feed more often than once a week.

Tuesdays, always--if only because my supplier(a local petstore that's not a chain) gets their pinks and fuzzies on Tuesdays at 1.30. I usually feed, naturally, at 1.40, right when I get home. Sometimes I skip a week, because of work(I work retail, with no set schedule), but the day is always the same, and Siliast seems to have noticed; He's often out and about on Tuesday morning, waiting for feeding time!

normally thursday evenings or friday afternons. depends on the pet stores stock..

Gomez usually gets fed Thursday or Friday, Neptune on Sat, then the rest of them on Sunday. The only reasons those boys are usually fed seperately is for Gomez I like to know somebody's tummy isn't full just for the security of being able to cuddle SOMEbody at any given time, and Neptune used to refuse on a regular basis and I could give his rat to Ma-tsu on Sunday if he didn't eat it. He eats regular now though, so he usually gets a Sunday meal as with the rest of the crew.

yes i do have strict feeding days :chew: ... oh you mean for my snakes? :rofl: well ya i do for them as well. everyone gets fed between tues and thursday. ;)

and the boas get fed two days after they have a nice big poop!
