Best Gift I could Ever Recieve..
I am still in awe; right in front of my closest family and while we were opening gifts, Mark presented it to me and of course I said yes. :D

Thanks everyone! We were sitting unwrapping gifts at my grandparents', (my mom's side of the immediate family) and about halfway through, my dad and uncle walk in (parents are divorced, so this was very weird!) Well, knowing my uncle workd for a prominent jeweler, a little red flag went up in my head, but then Mark started announcing what he was going to do, and he wasn't looking at me! So then he comes over, pops it to me and I accept, and it was just the most awesome thing!
We do have to go for a refitting since it is a little big for my ring finger; I have it on my index finger for now. :) I guess my uncle pulled off a miracle here, since they got the stone Fedexed from California on Fridy and he had to set it pretty quickly! I just can't stop staring at it.. it is an Oved diamond with baguettes on the side (sounds like a meal! hehehe)

Thanks everyone; I am more happy than I thought humanly possible. It doesn't feel like some groundbreaking exciting event; more like, a natural progression and evolution of our relationship. I am just quietly happy about it all, and I know it is right. We got together in May of 2001.
Now... time to tentatively set a date, and do all the fun wedding planning stuff! I already enlisted my sister as maid of honor; my best friend will be one bridesmaid but I can't really think of anyone else who would fit the bill; do two bridesmaids sound ok; I think so.. we plan on just getting married here at home since there's lots of room outside for the reception and parking; or maybe we will do the deed somewhere and just have the reception here at home.. renting a tent will be a definite though, as the weather is unpredictable.. maybe have the ceremony at a nondenominational chapel? I just don't know about the logistics of having the solemn ceremony under the tent, and then carting in tables for the catering and reception part; but maybe that would work? lol, this is fun stuff!!

    Congratulations!!!

The best number of bridesmaid's is the number you end up with...a friend of mine had none, I had one, another friend had 12...it's really up to you. =)

No rules required; do what YOU want and what is the least amount of stress. Period.

Oh and by the way, your ring is GORGEOUS! WOOHOO! And yeah to the toothpaste and toothbrush trick...cheap, easy and harmless to the stones and metal. =)

That was his ruse to rationalioze all the time he spent going to my uncle's and dad's to plan the whole ring thing out. :)
I Do however plan on getting some FW for my January birthday!! My b-day has traditionally been my way of asking for anything I did not get for Giftmas. :) If I get a nice bonus check this month I might just as well buy it myself.

Thanks! I just sit at my desk and stare at it; my friends have even called me on it! "There's Jen starin' at that ring again!" But including me, three out of seven of us on my team are engaged.. so they know how it is. (and most of the others are married.)
