    A Record
Does anyone have a form or something of that nature that they use to keep track of sheds, feedings, weights, and such? I'm using Exel right now to keep track, but it feels rather sloppy and I'd rather have a form that is easier to follow and keep track of. I want to moniter length, weight, girth, all that jazz, and I need a well thought out form to do it with. Anyone got a copy of a form they use?

I'm using excel as well. It works well for a few snakes..but as my collection grows, I can already tell that opening one at a time is going to become a time consuming task. There is some software called Herp Care Software that seems neat..i just haven't had time to really dive into it.

I used to use excel but it took more time and as the collection grows I wanted something easier so now I use degei it works great and make it way faster plus you can print out all kind of report you need http://www.eyehit.com/degei/support.htm

www.degei.com is the one we use. Very simple to use, free to try and just an all round great programme for the hobbyist or smaller breeder. :)

a lot of people have records and stuff, but as soon as my snake goes to the bathroom, or sheds or something like that i go ahead and record it on a calendar. I make a few calendars, with pictures of the kind of snake that they are in each month.

I've been using Metzcal, which is a free software that seems to be very easy to use and extremely flexible...it has all kinds of cool functions I haven't even explored yet...it graphs weights, feedings, etc and even does genetics for when you start breeding. I've yet to find anything it can't do. Every now and then it throws a minor error, but nothing fatal.

I use metzcal myself. I've found some of the breeding lineage things to be very interesting and will be very useful further down the line as I continue to breed animals.

I'll check out Metzcal, but I'll have to wait to download it since I'm on my mother's computer. "No downloading" rules. Is there any good form I can use for just one or a couple of snakes. I don't have a big collection of snakes just yet. Actually I only have one, but I want to keep track of everything about him. And my other reptiles when I get them.

This looks like a cool program with many useful features. Unfortunately, I cant get this to run on my desktop system for some reason.

I'm running Windows XP. Anyone else having a problem with this? Maybe I try my laptop later.....

That's a pity; I get the occasional minor error but nothing big. I was able to download and install it without asking my SO for help, which is no small miracle in itself. He tells me we are running Windows XP Home SP2, if that means anything to you.

I really really like the weight tracking graphs...it will also let you bulk-add events, like feedings, if you set up the templates right...still playing with that. So instead of manually entering each feeding in for every snake (which is getting tedious), I could enter a single feeding event and it would apply it to the whole group (assuming you have it set up in groups by prey size).
