Re: New Shots
Aw, thanks all of you =]
Yes, I've considered modeling. I've had random people on the streets want to take pictures with me, especially when Puppy is around. Hot girls and snakes are an awesome mix =] I've had modeling offers as well, but most are from fake, scam agencies. There's just too much involved. If I had a real, obviously legit offer come my way, I'd jump on it =] But for now, I'm just an internet celebrity XD
Thanks for all of your compliments, on me and the snakes :blowkiss:

YOu take your snake with you onto the streets ?

Best Friends eh ? Snakes are solitary animals.. I think you are being risky to say the least here..& im suprised no one else has mentioned that mixing different species of snake is a big No No.. Everyone is too concerned on how beautiful you are !!!!
Come on guys this isnt a good idea is it ??

It's been warmer than normal lately, and since Puppy just shed, I figured I'd get a few more pics of him. Not as good as the last ones in my opinion but still figured I'd share.

I really like this picture right here...Looks just like one of my smaller girls...
Great pictures, THank you for sharing.

If you lot seriously believe this is 'ok' then there is something drastically wrong with you.. The girl that posted the original message also takes her snakes 'out' with her.. Dont get me wrong yes she is a very pretty girl..but thats besides the point..you lot think that you are so 'in the know' with snakes, yet you dont even see anythng wrong with the pic above
HELLO ??? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS ?????
-
Re: New Shots
i seriously can understand WHY no one has picked up on this ! Where I live this would of been the 1st Concern..not how beautiful the girl is posting it !

Re: New Shots
The only thing I know, and I bearly know it, is that boas can carry diseases that they dont show symptoms from, which can kill pythons. Maybe someone will elaborate
-
Re: New Shots
Thats a good point, There is also Canibalism, fighting..
It just made me laugh out loud with the "They are best of friends ..seriously"
What did your snakes actually say that ??
Looks like you are using your snakes as trophy's..anyone would get people wanting to take pictures of you if you are walking along the street with a snake..it doesnt take a genius to work that out..does it now !

My vet would have a cow considering how susceptible pythons are to IBD and that Boas can be silent carriers, but, hopefully nothing comes of it...

This was an outside shoot where the snakes were put together... she did not specify whether they are housed together or not... I myself wouldn't really worry about cannibalism or fighting during an outside photo shoot, but that's just me.

Agreed, so back on topic. Hun... you are B.E.A.U.tiful.
-
Re: New Shots
I didnt imply they were being housed together...
I personally wouldnt even put them together for a simple photo shoot..
Up to you I spose..just seems I value my pets allot more than you guys..but thats up to you !
Merry Christmas !

Re: New Shots
lisa i sense some jealousy mayb, i think a little bit of python to boa interaction is good... as long as its supervised. If she has had the two snakes since they were small she should know alot about them, or enuff to supervise them, and its prolly not the first time they have played togather so since they have made it through many other playtimes, i too would consider them best friends. I think everyone is looking at her beauty and underestimating her intelligence. Just cuz shes beautiful doesnt mean she dosent know about snakes, or even more important, her knowledge about her snakes that she has had for a while. I have no objections, and i think the snakes are beautiful, and i guess shes kinda cute too lol :)
-
Re: New Shots
I don't think it has anything to do with who values what more... I have personally valued $50 worth of snakes at $650 (so far) just for vet bills, so don't even go there, please.
We all have different husbandry habits, not all that are right or wrong. If you are concerned, inform the keeper of any real dangers just in case they are not aware of them, and leave it at that.
-
Re: New Shots
What exactly am I jealous of ??? hahaha you are SO wrong

Also agreed... Geez let's see one picture thread go thru it's entire life without some kind of interrogating questions about husbandry, care or some kind of harrassing tone about how a person cares for their animals...
Again, great pictures and photography skills! Keep it up!

Re: New Shots
Im sorry if I have offended anyone but I am simply pointing out what is BLATENTLY obvious.
I mean after all..thats probably why these forums exist in the 1st place..
Its not a beauty contest .. But a SNAKE FORUM...
anyway im still baffled as to what exactly I am supposed to be Jealous of..!!! :)

Re: New Shots
A snake forum... that she posted pics of her snakes in. Wow.

MISSING THE POINT COMPLETELY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get an attitude over this.
LISA77,
I think that people are responding to your attitude. The following statement is a little uppity:
Quote:
Best Friends eh ? Snakes are solitary animals.. I think you are being risky to say the least here..& im suprised no one else has mentioned that mixing different species of snake is a big No No..
I would say that this statement is full of resentment and jealosy:
Quote:
Everyone is too concerned on how beautiful you are !!!!
And frankly any woman, even Marilyn Monroe, would not be criticized for being a little jealous of xxCYxx.
BUT -- Us men are, unfortunately, controlled by baser motivations and often we do not think so good around beautiful women.

Please forgive us.

Re: New Shots
Let me clarrify a few things....
Thankfully, I am beautiful enough NOT to be jealous of anyone.. beauty is only skin deep ..I happen to see beauty in other areas not just in a boat race..
I also understand that men tend to think with their penis rather than anything else..fact of life..it just 'suprised' me to notice that no one even picked up on the possible dangers.
I care more about my pets more than I do anything else & in turn ensure they are looked after to the very best of my ability..I just expect other pet owners to do so too..
Not too much to ask is it...really ?

See ya Next Tuesday..so glad I am no part of the USA

Re: New Shots
Alright Lisa77. Excuse me for apparently being too stupid to understand my snakes. Excuse me for being too stupid to know their habits, and being able to interpret their signals.
I am Puppy's second owner. His owner before me worked for the zoo, in the reptile house. Puppy was one of the snakes that was part of the reptile program that traveled to elementary schools and educated children. He was picked specifically for the program due to his very, very, very calm and laid back nature. Puppy is one of the most social snakes you will ever meet. Despite the fact that he has a hide in his tank [NO, they are NOT housed together. They're actually on seperate sides of the room] he never goes in it, that I have seen. And they stay in MY room. Puppy prefers to be out, where he can see things. And both of them, more than anything, hate their tanks.
Absinthe, while not as social as Puppy, is my boyfriend's baby. He would kill over that snake. Just as I am well in tune with Puppy, my boyfriend can tell you Absinthe's attitude with a single glance. And yes, the two are friends. Why do I say this? Maybe because they'd rather be together than apart. If we take them out, they strain to be near each other. If we put them down, the first thing they do is go to each other. When only one is out, it attempts to get into the others tank.
Excuse me if I have taken both my snakes to the vet, and had them checked out. Excuse me if my vet, after having seen them both and seen for himself how they interact, told me that in his opinion, my care of them was fine.
I'm far from stupid. I'm always asking questions, whether it's here, or the vet. I'll call them just to ask them something small.
Yes, I take my snakes out in public. When it's warm, and as long as it's not too crowded. Sure, dogs and snakes are very different creatures, but if a person can carry around their dog, then why can I not carry around my snake?
Both of my snakes eat normally, shed normally, and aside from Puppy's intense love for people, they both act normally. If we don't take them out, they get antsy and circle their tanks. Our snakes, for as long as we've had them, haven't been tank snakes. I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but my snakes are a huge part of my life and a huge part of me. As long as I'm in the house and we don't have nervous guests over, my snakes are out. They're part of my family. My little sister used to be terrified of snakes. Now she knocks on my door every morning and asks me if she can come in and say hello to Puppy.
I'm not going to say your jealous. But I am going to say that you should consider the personality of the SNAKE. They're like people, and I don't care what anyone says. They each have their own individual personality and tastes, and if you can't see that in your own snakes, then you don't spend enough time with them.
That's really all I have to say in my own defense. I know my snakes. They're one of the most important things in my life. You're the idiot if you think I'd jeopardize them in some way.
Also, Lisa77, if you think I need my snakes to get attention, you must be blind. No, I don't think myself better than anyone, and I'm not trying to say that. But statistically, I get far more attention than the average person, snake or no. Excuse me for that too. I'll try and stay out of public, since apparently just because I take my snakes out, I'm an attention craving whore. It's not enough that people take pictures, grope me, whistle at me, try and pick me up... all on a daily basis whether my boyfriend or snake is there or not. Damn. Sucks for me... I just need some more attention soooo bad that I take my snake with me. I mean really. That's the only way to do it /sarcasm
As for the rest of you, thank you for your compliments, and your defense arguments. Now. That's all I want to hear about my methods of caring for MY snakes. This is a PICTURE thread, so let's return to talking about those.

Lisa77, this is your first public warning. Please try to keep a level of civility when typing on your key board or don't type anything at all. You've made a lot of assumptions and a lot of rude comments towards many people here and the US in general. Totally unacceptable and uncalled for! Either offer an apology or go clear your head before you type again.!

Thank you =] I really want to get a better camera, because even though this one takes good pictures, they're still not the best and I personally think he's still so much more beautiful in person.
Puppy is a boy. =]

We tried Puppy, but he'd rather play. That doesn't mean we don't intend to try again.
Absinthe is our top priority right now. We're looking for a bright male, like her, but with a brighter tail for her, for when we decide to start breeding her.

Well both would make gorgeous baby's...I'm curious as to the pastels puppy would make, bred to a fine female pastel.
Best of luck to ya whenever you attempt to breed again!

Your welcome, pastel would be great because it's a awesome foundation morph to work with to create other combo morphs...not only that but it's co-dom so theres no need to worry about 50%,66% or 100% hets... Just pastels & normals... but look at differen't morphs and findout what you would like to produce... Either way whatever you breed to him should make some killer lookin babies. ;)
