Prego Boas

I was messing around with the group today and thought I'd take a few shots of some pregnant boas for everyone to see.

Here is a beautiful salmon colored pastel female in POV shed. She is swollen right up and looks like she swallowed a football.

She was paired up with this awesome little guy. A poss. super salmon from Salmonboa.com:

Here is another great looking boa. She is a 66% het albino and has been in POV shed for quite some time and should be shedding soon. She is also very swollen and ready to pop.

Congrats, that's one big mama in that first pic! Can't wait to see pics of a big pile 'o slimy babies. :P

When is your first litter due?

The Hypo litter should be dropping around the end of January, if I'm right with all the calculations. The albino litter should drop about mid February.

You'll have to post pictures of all the babies!!! =)

Your albino sure is pretty. So many just look like a big banana. How are those boaphile's working for you?

Boaphile works great! Thanks for asking! They sure are easy to use, but racks are so much easier to lift those giants out of. Next time I buy a cage I will probably go with Freedom Breeder's larger size racks just because these giants are a pain to pull out of the Boaphiles.

what is a POV shed?

Post Ovulation Shed. Usually used to give a time of when she's due to give birth.

Right on! Pov, pos, etc...all means the same thing. ;)

Where did that come from? I think my camera takes nice pics. :oops: Maybe I'm wrong? It's a canon 5.0 . Maybe I should upgrade, but we'll have to see if it will pay for itself or not.

Update: I was a little off, for some reason I was missing numbers on the delivery dates. They should be dropping around the beginning of April. Probably around the 5th to 10th.

I'm screwed alright. By the time I get enough money for one, I'll have spent it all on vet visits and by the time I get more money, All the SMOKERS will be gone. WHo knows.

Just to get new fecals done and have check ups on them all. I'm sure I'll pay quite a bit for all of that

I wish I could get a fecal for 8 bucks!! They want 30 some for a visit PER snake and then a fecal is extra!!! I'm gonna call around a few more places and see what they charge

Ask them if they will let you drop off fecals. That's what I do, I don't do the visits unless it's needed. You know your snake pretty well and you'll know if it has any problems.
