A normal 10 gal tank is 20"w x 10"d x 12"h. You might want to check out the Critter Cages at your local petco.
I would never by an animal from Petco, but they generally have good prices on other "stuff".
Here is a link to the critter cages web page: http://www.all-glass.com/products/ca...ttercage.shtml
good luck.

Re: help needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 10 gallon tank is pretty big for all but the largest tarantulas and some of the arboreals. What kind of tarantula are you looking to house? Is it the curlyhair you asked about in the other thread? You can get away with housing an adult in a tank that size, but you will want the substrate to be around 5 or 6 inches deep to keep the tarantula from falling and hurting itself if it decides to climb.
Re: help needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and... how big is it? small slings (spiderlings = babies) need a smaller enclosure ;)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. There are some caresheets out there that don't specify different requirements for slings and juvies.

HOW SMALL FOR A BABY CURLY HAIRED TARANTULA? :taz: :taz: :carrot: :sabduel: :carrot: :sabduel: :sabduel: :sunny:
Re: help needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How big is the spider? The general rule of thumb is 2-3 times the legspan in length, 1-2 times the leg span in width, and no more than 1 1/2 times the legspan for the distance between the substrate and the top of the enclosure.
So in other words, a spider with a 2" legspan would be fine in an enclosure that is 6 inches long by 4 inches wide. A 1" spiderling could be kept in a jar or a display cube that is approximately 3 inches accross, etc....
Re: help needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you have a link for this caresheet you're looking at? Many of the invert caresheets posted on the web are wrong.

Could you please NOT use all capitals, and more importantly try using only one or two smilies? It makes reading your posts very straining.
