What are you getting for the holidays?

Just curious what you guys are asking for. I'm going to get a Boaphile 421D
And a Ranco T-stat with some heat tape and in a few more months I'll be able to afford another Boaphile!!!

Nothing herp related, and really the only thing that I asked for was a Bluetooth headset for my cell phone. Oh yeah, and a bagless vacuum.


I much more prefer to GIVE gifts than receive at Christmas. I have a hard time coming up with gift ideas for myself, because I just don't like asking for gifts.

Got a new (Badly needed) Cell phone... Everything else goes towards gifts for the "Fam" etc....

All I asked for this year were a few books I've wanted to get for a while, such as VPI's Ball Python Book, and a few of the Aqualog books on Malawian Cichlids. Always good to have reference materials!

I'm not really sure. My family and I have come to the group concensus that we're all poor.

I've said that if they want to give me money, they can. Otherwise, I'm okay with not getting anything.

I'm knitting my mom a blanket and making her and my sister a necklace. I'm not sure about my dad yet, but whatever it ends up being, I know he'll appreciate it.

Same boat here, we all just get gifts for the kids and something small for everybody else.

Randy always just gives me money so he doesn't have to go shopping.

I got $450

most of it's gone already though =/

I'm hoping to get more of Randy(my het pied breeder male)'s vet bill of $1145.40 paid off.
That's about it. I'm going to do my best to sleep through all of it.

we give to a charity instead... this year we already donated to david suzuki foundation and we are also planning on donating funds to Heifer.

We decided to go visit my sister and two nieces in New York (Long Island) for the holidays so, we really aren't getting each other much this year. This trip is the best present anyway, I get to wake up Christmas morning with my nieces ( one is 2 and other is 8 months) how great is that.

We may leave the kids with the Grandparents on New Years Eve and go to Times Square. It's always been one of those things on my to do list before I die. I'm so excited!!!:carrot:

I asked my wife to get me 2 helix thermostats and 2 photo cell night drop things....OH and I am going to load up on co-dom males at the reptile show at White Plains in Jan...(a gift for myself)

I got my honey his pistol, since he just got his carrying permit last week.. I shot it yesterday, and WOW it is addicting!! Can't wait to get my permit now..

I have no idea what I am getting... call me ungrateful, but I almost cringe when I imagine what's coming for me. I can't help it, it's a conditioned response when you're the black sheep of the family.

I bought a few things for my boyfriend and something for one of my cousins, but after that I had some hefty vet bills, so who knows who else will be getting anything from me...

I asked for cash. I put a few small things on my Christmas list so i can open something however. My parents don't really know anything about herps or computers/electronics, so sadly often some things end up being stuff I that I end up buying with a gift card or with cash to do so. Also, I would have asked for boaphile caging, but with the current wait time it was best that I ordered when I did.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up taking my parents out to dinner, since I have no idea what to get them. They're going to take my tonsils out on thrusday, so I haven't had time to go out, wander around, and find something suitable.

im getting all things for my snake and a football jersey and a video game (call of duty 3)

Haha I'm giving my grandma 1,000.00 for plumbing and I really have my eye on this Zakk Wylde Les Paul that's from the Gibson custom shop. It's an arseload of money but signature guitars especially someone like Zakk can be a major plus in about 5 years when they are out of production. It's 2,200.00 and I'll ask my boss if I can put like 500.00 down and pay the rest off in a month or so.

I got that Spider from Ed.. waiting on shipping though til later in the week.. I got Mark his new pistol, since he recently got his permit..
Then Mark got me some surprise BP things from a local guy who's getting out of the hobby.. he said that the package involves flexwatt and an incubator but he's not budging on what else! I just love this man. :D
We bought mostly gifts for my almost-3-year-old niece, since she is more "with it" than last year, being older and all.. I really overspent on her but she deserves it. :) I do plan on being charitable, but I am waiting until after the holidays when it seems it's more needed.. I will be donating a bunch of food to the local food bank. There have been commercials on recently that indicate a strong need for food, and I want to help but I never feel safe donating cash, so I figure food is needed.

our little town store doesn't something great. they take brown paper bags and fill them with christmas essentials. and for $14.99 you can buy one (or two) and they deliver them to the food bank.

also, at the cashiers in all the grocery stores up here... you can buy $2.00 vouchers... which are donated to the food bank. they save up all the donations and then buy what they need most... at a discounted rate. how cool eh?

It is a good book. I just finished it, since I couldn't wait until Christmas. :giggle: Of course now comes the yucky part... waiting for the last book to be released. :(

Santa's bringing Carmen a present - a BIG girl cage! We told her if she kept eating her ratters, that someday she could have a big girl cage like Cleo...

Went to the reptile shop in town to buy feeders and to inquire about ordering a cage for Carmen from the same people who made Cleo's cage (product here, Cleo's cage here). Turns out the store the exact cage and color we wanted (to match Cleo's), and it was on sale! Woohoo!

Came home and ordered all the bits we needed (lighting, heating, hides since our boa lurves her hides, Herpstat Pro, etc.)....so, it won't be ready in time for Christmas, but we'll get it together later this week, hopefully, and Carmen can have her own "amazon palace"! =D

And yes, we'll get pictures up when it's done. =)

I know I got a table saw(makes doing racks so much easier!) and 2 800 g female BP from my girlfriend. I have no idea on anything else. I am hoping for another thermostat but I can't remember if I told anyone I wanted that.

I'm getting nothing.
One of my clients gave me a gift card to Sonny's BBQ. So I guess that counts. That would be it.

the last thing any normal college student wants is books for their major...i guess that makes me abnormal :D I like 3D modeling, Photoshop, Web design, etc...my major is Multimedia, and i asked for a whole bunch of training DVD's, tutorial books, and what ever else i can get my hands on to learn more and more.

Hey I was the same way in both college and graduate school.....it is good that you like your major.

heh..i love my major. i can't think of anything else i'd rather be doing for a living...(well..*maybe* a living off ball python breeding...but that's high hopes..lol)
