Do you "baby talk" to your herps?
I get total grief from my daughter when I talk to Fluffy. I don't know if its the attention or just the proximity of another warm body, but he does seem to like it. I say all sorts of things to my "snakey-wakey". My wife thinks its cute, and my son makes no comments (he really does not want to have anything to do with the snake.) BUT my daughter is relentless with her poking fun at me.

Does anyone else talk to their snakes? Baby-talk?

I don't with my snakes but occasionally do with my geckos lol. Mostly because my 2 year old daughter does it with them. She calls them "Dedoes"

I'm not a BP owner yet, but I talk to my Beta, Chloe--so I'm sure that in February when I'm a BP-mommy, I'll talk to him, too. :)

It's sorta like having a baby all over again. I mean I clean up messes, hand feed him, make sure his crib is all right, and he cant talk back or really show much emotion. Little babies just kinda lie there and cry. THANK GOD snakes don't cry!!!!

yeah i baby talk them, especially when they smear crap all over the sides of the tub or knock over their water bowls....but its usually very sarcastic and includes lots of four letter words.

Yes, I do talk to my snakes. :psychotic In fact, I just finished having a lovely one sided conversation with several of them as I cleaned their cages. Some are better to talk to than others. Of course, I will also talk to the car, dishes, or any other thing that needs my brillant opinion.

I don't have any kids, so my pets take that role. Not in a creepy cat lady sort of way though. ;)

I talk to them... and I talk especially sweet to them if they're getting treated for something. Sending good vibes their way can't be a bad thing.

Well, not really baby talk, but my girlfriend laughed at me when I waved at Austin as he was "eyeballing" me from his cool hide, and asked if I actually waved at him.
