I am now officially out of money
Yep. I am now broke.
In the past 3 months, I have gone thru sooo much money. Here's the total so far. It's sad considering I am still nowhere near done.
Bathroom = $2,000
Furniture = $3,200
Carpeting = $1,200
Marble Fireplace = $1,800
New ceiling fan, lights, doors = $800
I still need paint and some ceramic floor tiles.
I hope most of this can be written off at tax time so I can recoup some money to do the roof and chimney.

Nope. Lots of manual labor. The ceramic tile was easy to put down and sheetrock and painting isn't too tough. I had a professional do the connections and fistures but other than that, all the materials are available at Home Depot and Lowes.

Re: I am now officially out of money
I will. Something isn't working right with the memory card manager on the PC. I load the card and it tells me it can't read it.
As soon as I figure it out, I'll post pics of the new living room with the carpet, furniture, and redone fireplace.
I already saved this pic.
This is the pic of the good part of the floor in the living room right after I ripped the old carpet out. Couldn't save the hardwood. Too much damage in places to refinish it. :(

Re: I am now officially out of money
Oh:( Who ever did that to those beautiful floors should be shot:mad: I just don't understand why people can't see the beauty in wood floors. Sorry you could not save them. Look forward to the pics of the new and improved living room:D

Re: I am now officially out of money
They ruined them. Black stains, paint, gouges. I would have loved to have been able to refinish it but due to the amount of damage, the entire floor would have had to have been replaced. A bit too expensive so I went with carpeting.
I don't get what some people think at times.

Re: I am now officially out of money
I know what you mean by broke. we did new water heater, furnace, central air ,privacy fence, new carpet throughout, gutted and rebuilt the bathroom and library. Removed 8 trees, landscaping, electric in 4 rooms and painted trim in1 1/2 yrs. about 40,000 with us doing much of the work. We only paid about 67,000 originally.:D But thats only the FUN part of home ownership. Wait till all the bills come in!!:eek: :eek:

Re: I am now officially out of money
It looks good. Is there a place to sit down in front of the fire?

Re: I am now officially out of money
Absolutely gorgeous fireplace!! I love fireplaces and I love marble and granite and anything else earthy! :rockon: :carrot: It's too bad about the hardwood though, but at least the carpet will be warmer in the winter!
