Not familiar with Jared, so not sure, but Axanthics brown out with age, and are recessive, so maybe?

Legit? yes i believe black and white snakes do exist.

I also believe that the picture posted above is photochopped. Anything is possible in photoshop. The effects are obvious to me in that picture.

Photoshopped to enhance it slightly? maybe.....but Im telling you, I know for a fact Jared Horenstein aquired that animal in '99, as it aged, it browned out, looking pretty much like a normal, and the trait was not proven genetic.... Im sure someone that you'll believe will confirm this ;)

Hehe...well, ~I~ believe you, Chris! :P I think this discussion pops up every now and then when someone discovers that picture. And while I don't know Jared myself, I've heard of his reputation, and he doesn't seem like someone who would need to (or want to) photoshop any of his animals.

i don't think it is photo-shopped. it is highly exposed and the white is a little too bright, imo.

alot of cool looking babies and imports come in every year, some stay cool looking, some look no different from other normals as adults. that's why they call it "dinking"

Photoshoped yes. You can tell by the shadows the shadows on the snake are way darker than the shadows cast on the hand that is holding it. Its a layer blending fault in the photoshop program. The animal may exist but I think it been touched up a little.

    Hope this helps - Ed

And some wont breed, and some just arent genetic...Man, there is some REALLY cool stuff tucked away in breeders racks, that most people (certainly myself) dont know about, for these reasons...that being said, I hope like hell that "Neo" proves out....that thing is just bad!

Chris, I agree 100% ... People need to realize that if you don't at least know who the players are you probably shouldn't put a foot out onto the field ... good way to get hurt ... Jared is infamous/notorious/legendary in this biz.

The animal is real, many people in the biz saw it in person ... it doesn't look like that anymore and was never reproduced.

The picture most likely was not photoshopped ... It's just old ... bad camera, old technology ... that picture has been around for at least 5 years and the shot might have been taken with a cheap digital, but my guess was that it was taken with a film camera and scanned on a cheap scanner ... That's how we used to dooz it back in the day.

I agree with you - I knew who you were referring to, but then I'm scouring websites each and every night - I'm so hungry for information, and heck - I like looking at pretty snakes! :D

I don't remember where i found that picture, so i can't say for sure that it was Jared's, but if he was the only one with a snake like that, then i guess it was his. It is so beutiful, I wish it could have been made again, and actually stayed that color (or lack there of), but oh well, still a beutiful looking snake.
