Over a foot of snow! GRR
Heh, normally I like snow, but we are getting pounded here in Wisconsin, and I have to unload wood/pickup more wood for some projects, clean all the rats and water them (outside building, garage) bleh :)
AND IT ISNT EVEN OVER YET! :)
Supposed to get nearly 1.5 feet around here , depending on how the storm moves.... lets just hope it doesnt warm up and add a layer of ice :)

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
So its you I should blame for not keeping all this white stuff on your side of the lake!?
;)

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
Are you kidding? I couldn't make it out of the driveway, in fact I couldn't even manage to get the car back into the garage.
At least I live behind the hospital, so I walked over there to get my tests done that were scheduled this morning.
Unfortunately I will not be able to make to my cousin's funeral, due to the snow :(
I think we've got 8 inches on the ground here, at least. It's knee high in some places.

hehehe...sounds like fun!
Growing up in Dallas, it's not like I've never seen snow...but we'd only get a few inches at a time, at the very most...and that was rare. In all my 40 years...including 16 years so far in the military...I've only lived one winter in a location that usually gets decent snowfall....and they had a very mild winter that year with just one 6-8" fall the whole season. :( And now we're on our way back to San Antonio. Chances for snow...slim. :P

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
The pain in the butt is that while we only got 6 inches here in south burbs of Chicago, Sun is toys for tots and it is supposed to be 4 degrees for line up time....BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.... I think I may wuss out this year.

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
Luckily this system moved north very quickly. It was right in line to hit us, too, but isn't going to now.
It's VERY windy here, though, and getting colder. Ugh, winter's here. I hate winter. And snow is only fun when you don't have anywhere to go :)

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
Im upset because we didnt get any snow. They were calling for 6 inches here, plus freezing rain which I dont like, but barely got enough to collect around the roots of the trees. Just a few hours north of me they got 13 inches....I guess I need to move farther north....lol

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
Oh snow can be lovely Judy and lots of fun, however, here's a feeling of it for you from a mom's perspective.
4 Kids Yelling: MOM! MOM! It's snowed! Can we go out?
Mom: Sure, let me get your stuff! It'll be fun! (this is followed by at least 30 minutes of sweating and digging through the closet, muttering things like "why did I buy all 4 kids black snowpants...whose is whose!!!! okay I have 14 pairs of unmatched mittens!!!!! arrrrrgh!) Finally mom emerges from the depths of the closet...madly clutching piles of winter clothes and semi-matched mittens....all 4 kids have wandered off to watch cartoons and no longer even care about going outside.
Mom: You WILL go out there! I just spent 30 minutes with my face in stinky boots!!!! Get dressed NOW!
4 Kids: Awwww MOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Cut to 15 minutes of stuffing whining children into snow clothes (at least one is in the wrong black snowpants but at this point who cares!)
Door closes. Mom plans on a cup of coffee (perhaps laced with something) and at least 20 minutes of quiet time. 10 seconds go by...
Youngest Kid: MOM I HAVETA PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Mom drags in kid, drags off snow clothes, drags kid to bathroom to pee and stuffs him/her back in snowclothes in record time. 3 other kids are now standing at the door whining....
3 Kids: Why does he get to come inside! We are freezing out here you know! (they aren't...you know you spent a month's pay on their darn snowstuff so they wouldn't "freeze out there"!)
Shove kid out, suggest they build a snow fort and pelt each other with snowballs...anything...just GIVE ME A MINUTE OF PEACE AND QUIET!
Race back to your coffee...slip and almost fall in melting snow that the I-have-to-piddle kid left behind...find the puppy slurping down the last of your coffee.
Give up, stuff yourself into snow clothes and go outside....pelt the kids with snowballs, fall over and make snow angels and end up having a great time despite yourself. :)
P.S. All snow fun must be followed with cups of hot chocolate (with the mini marshmallows of course), and a cuddle in the warm house for a movie time. Later on you as mom get to deal with the wet pile of snow stuff and those slightly kid feet stinky boots but it's all worth it.

Re: Over a foot of snow! GRR
We have official changed vehicles with yesterday's snowfall. Yep...that's right we have "seasonal" vehicles! Really we just change over to driving the truck in the winter as it gets through snow much better. I'm sure glad I loaded up some extra weight in the back the day before yesterday! It never fails also that when the snow plows do get out they completely block off every driveway with a wall of snow. When we got home last night I gave my wife about 10 seconds to think about what I was about to do and then just did it! I got the truck lined up and busted through the wall of snow and got right through up into our driveway..trucks rule in the snow!

Being from the most tropical region of the country you know what I'm going to post.........I want snow I love it!!!!... Everytime I've been up the east coast it's during the winter , I make the trip cause I gotta see it at least see it for a little while. One more thing maybe I'm wrong but Christmas just look's and must feel better with the white stuff.
