    Lookin for a Pastel
Hey I'm looking for a male Pastel.

Looking for a good price too and preferable someone who is from Canada. I think that would make shipping easier as I don't know about cross border shipping.

Also would be great if the seller had some normal females they could sell me to.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

the current price for a pastel male can be from around $225 on up for different lines. But ih have done some lookin and seen some for $150 try around here in the forums. if you are lookin for some in canada you could try http://www.a1pythons.com/ regardless of what is on his website you should give him a call. but if you could find one here im shure there are people here in the forums who have some for sale.

Still looking. Really finding it hard for a breeder in canada to get back to me. Contacted a couple with no replies.

A1pythons seems alright but I have heard from alot people that they received mites from henry and even in one case he sold a boa claiming pure geneolgy only after when the buyer recieved it and examined and questioned him on it he said he actually didn't know the geneology and just thought thats what it was. He did refund some of the money in the end but I think i'll steer clear.

Wow, Im suprised to see this...Last I heard, there were so many male Pastels in Canada they were being given away for free :P seriously though..what are you looking for? a breeder sized Pastel, or a juvenile? theres lots available, quite a few breeders out west near you ;)

I'm looking for a juvenile male.

Ya I figure there has to be I just can't seem to find one who wants to respond.

I looked on the fauna site thats where I read about Henry its a little hard searching for a good breeder on that site when most of it is inquiries on people so you have to go into everythread and read all the posts only to find out he's a scammer or something.

I wish they had a good guy list just for canada as well. would make it a lil easier

I have to agree with Jamie there......Jeff has some real nice ready to breed '05 males right now, he's out in BC.....

I should've asked how much you are looking to spend, cause my idea of a "good price" probably differs from yours ;)

It probably does. Sorta want a juvenile so it will be cheaper plus not ready to breed him this year anyway so might as well.

I've seen prices between 300 - 500 I would pay that. would be better to be on the lower end but if the quality was there and I really liked the animal it wouldn't matter if he was 500.

I just noticed this part LOL ....don't look at the breeders website and assume what you see is what they have LOL...Corey hatched out about 500 babies this year, do you see any listed on his site for sale? nope ;) The best way to find out what is available is to actually contact the breeders via phone or email, tell them what you are looking for, and they will let you know whats up. In most cases, if they dont have it, the can/will get it for you ;)

ah tricks of the trade... my bad. would of thought people trying to sell them would atleast advertise on there site. but when you put it that way, him having 500 babies that would take a long time to put up on the net and maintain.

Ok looks like I got some emails to send out and see whats available.

Its ok, when I first started looking around for morphs, I was like you, in that I just assumed what I saw, is what's out there LOL... also, there are ALOT of breeders who dont have websites, and/or are not even active on the web....your best bet, and this goes for any of the Canadians on here, most of whom dont seem to realize the extent to which the Canadian herp community exists (its big LOL) is to become a part of the Canadian herp community. Go to shows, join the great Canadian herp forums (there are a few), talk to other herpers in your area. I get frustrated when alot of Canadians moan and complain, or act as though Canada is a barren ghost town when it comes to Bp's, morphs, and just herps in general. They just arent aware :( and its too bad, because the Canadian BP scene is on fire!!

EDIT: I should also add that, in Coreys case, even though they are not listed in the "Available" page, he does advertise what he has...in the form of his breeding records..you should check them out ;) but if you do, keep in mind that those "projected prices" are definitely NOT what they are actually selling for, and that the BR is not completly updated

    Re: Lookin for a Pastel
I have been getting to know my herp comunity. I recently went to our reptile show here in winnipeg. It was small but really awesome got to see alot of herps and got me even more interested and also made me realize that there were alot of people in winnipeg alone that are involved with herps.

I realize there is alot of people out there not on the net too just a little harder to find those ones. I have joined some other forums as well
    www.manitobaherp.com
    www.reptilescanada.com

both good forums. I made an inquiry on the manitoba one but got nothing.

Thanks for everything guys. I have sent out emails to both corey and Jeff see who responds.

I guess by putting up this posting I was sorta hoping for a canadian breeder to see it and contact me.

 I should also add that this late in the year, you'd probly be much better waiting for an '07 hatchling, since most that are still around, are whats left over after all the good ones have been picked through. Not too mention you will assuredly pay less for an '07, and have a better chance of getting THE Pastel you want, not just whatevers left over ;)

    Touche Salesman!

Also seeing as Jeff's site said he won't ship if the temp is lower than -5 and today in winnipeg its -16 with windchill its -27. So I'm not a civil engineer yet but I think thats slightly over his limit. what do you think.

Maybe thats why no breeders are contacting me back. Thinking I'm crazy to be shipping now.

I asked the guys at river city reptiles a little while ago about shipping and they said it was fine whenever. foam cooler with heat packs in it.

Plus next year there will probably be even more pastels making them even cheaper. But then I'm one year behind.

Behind what ? like I have a big master plan cause I don't. But would just seem to be behind something.

Can you point me in the direction of some of these great canadian herp forums please? I would love to join I have joined a few and if there are some more out there to check out I would love to.

Also I went a little deeper into the herp society tonight went over to a guy who has a rat farm in his basement. Picked some up at a really good price I think. $2.50 for Med and $1.25 for pup. if your talking pet stores in my area thats exactly half the price. They were also fresh bet they liked that.

I dont think it was a big deal.... like you said, now you know ;) :D

Just sheerly out of curiousity...what are you looking for in a Pastel, have you decided which lineage is your favourite and why?.... what traits are a "must have" for you?......

Not a problem at all. That was just a gentle reminder to others to not openly recruit for other forums, that's all. :)
