Sooo...instead of getting a female het. pied to go with my male het pied...i decided to get a female pied. :)
I am super excited, I am getting her a day after i get the het male, i'll post pictures of her once i get the okay from the breeder. I am ordering her from David Doherty, who has just been a great guy!!

Congratulations! Goota love those pieds! And it's YOUR money, if you want to invest in a pied ball python, you go girl!
And don't be made to feel guilty by others who decide you should, just because you do happen to have enough money to get something that you want. I had the same thing when I got some of my high end snakes.
I'll be checking out the pictures as soon as I can run down which they are!

Thanks! a lot of people tell me that i don't know what i'm doing, investing on snakes that are this expensive when i am only 15, but i work hard for my money. The pictures are under, "whoot whoot" in the Picture section. I'll make sure to take some pictures of them as soon as i get them settled in (after the whole week waiting period....which is going to be hell)

I think it's great that you went ahead and got the pied. By the time you are the age of the majority of the members of ball pythons.net, you will have so much knowledge of ball pythons it's scary. Enjoy your snakes!

BTW, if you're 15 how were you born in 1982? The math there boggles my mind!:P

Good luck with your future breeding ventures!

My advice is, get it now before you have to pay rent/bills. :) If you work hard for your $$, what's the problem? As long as you have basic husbandry issues down now, and are caring for your current snakes, I think you deserve one more than an adult person who doesn't care for them properly.
I do not tell non-hobbyists the costs of my animals.. heck, my family flipped out when I said that we paid $60 for a normal female! If they only knew..

thanks! i love them. My dad said no more snakes after this...buttt my next purchase is going to be a Mojave :D They are so pretty. I have enough money for one now, But i still have not gone christmas shopping
buttt, my sweet 16 is coming up, so we'll see what's next on the agenda :)

I think it's a great idea to stock up on them now. I have a ton of money put away for the cost of living when i get out of highschool so i don't have to worry about it...but that doesn't mean i'm going to have extra hundreds (and even thousands) of dollars floating around to buy snakes. This way when i move out, all i have to worry about is their food and health. :)

Here's a warning though.. the real world isn't kind, and it might be a shock when you have to get out there and pay rent, bills, etc. But if you're earning and saving now, that is a smart decision; better than living off of ramen noodles and being late with the phone bill!

Totally off topic. What about college? You said you had money put away for cost of living after high school but no mention of college.
