They got 2 from a local reptile zoo as 3 week old babies, the guy in the pic took them home with him to hand bottle feed them every few hours. They let them run around the shop today while we were in there getting some frozen mice and they started to try and eat the mice and when they took the mice away, they got into a bag of chinese food they had for their lunch.
Rice everywhere:)
Very cool critters and they get into EVERYTHING/
Re: Local Herp shop pics. *DUW*
They are the Japanese equivalent of a raccoon/doglet kind of thing - they were all over the place in Yokosuka. I'm embarrassed to say I am not sure if they are closer to dog fox raccoon or what - but they're cute pokemon looking little buggers.

Re: Local Herp shop pics. *DUW*

they are quite a cute critter though!
Re: Local Herp shop pics. *DUW*
They are related to raccoons.. they're becoming a popular exotic pet, it's not hard to find info on coatis.
Re: Local Herp shop pics. *DUW*

if im not mistaken, I believe you can also find these wild in the southwest us.
Re: Local Herp shop pics. *DUW*
i thought it was spelled koadimundi and i know they're from central and south america. not Japan.
Re: Local Herp shop pics. *DUW*
Cute.. I looked them up, and they seem to be one of those animals that would enjoy life in captivity; hopefully, people who get them know what they're getting into though!
Nice BP in those pics too; cool back striping.
