Re: Attention Helix Owners
E3 is invalid day and night temps, has to be between 65-110
EE is probe disconnected or damaged.

Thanks Vaughn!!!!
Thats really confusing though. It still is giving me a temp reading, so the probe is working. Plus the temp settings are correct and it is keeping the temps right where they are supposed to be. The little red light is staying on and it gives me those codes when I hit the button.
Re: Attention Helix Owners

Typcially, EE and E3 together mean that the controller temporarily lost communication with the probe ... I've had it happen when I've placed oil filled heaters too close the the racks and jacked the ambient temps up around the probe way too high ... the Helix will continue to work, but the red light stays on until you clear it so that you know there was a problem.

This being the only Helix I have, is there a trick to resetting it? I have unplugged the unit and plugged it back in about 10 minutes later also and it didn't work.

I went and tried it, didn't work. :(
Re: Attention Helix Owners
Call Helix - he'll send you out something to plug into the bottom to re-set it. I had the same thing. No charge for it, I don't know if I know where I put it now! LOL

Hmmm, what kind of thing was it?
Re: Attention Helix Owners
It was like 2 inches long, and it's some tool they have that re-sets. I can't put my hands on it to properly describe it (or even photograph it).
Re: Attention Helix Owners
I had the same kind of problem with using a ESU light too close to the unit. It kept re-setting the night drop and I had to reset the error codes every morning .... the newer ones can deal with the EMP and keep their settings. If it keeps happening, look at what other electrical equipment you have close.

I will have to take a closer look at the bottom of it tomorrow. ;)

I don't use a night time drop and it hangs on the wall with nothing else electronic close by. It has been hanging in the same exact spot for quite awhile with no problems and it actually is still working. It is kinda frustrating to see that red light on all the time though. :(
