Help with ID of these two babies...
I got this pair (1 male, 1 female) at a show and am not quite sure what they are. I'm thinking Hypomelanistic Okeetee?? Basically I got them because I tought they were a good looking pair of snakes... Any help would be great!

I'm not any good at morphs and types, but the colours are simular to my Evan, which is supposedly a normal.

    Nice looking snakes though. :D

I'm not that good with corn morphs, but you might want to look up crimson?

Crimson babies are pretty red and then they fade out as they get older.

Those two look exactly like my baby girl, and she's an okeetee.

almost definitely okeetee, I'm just about positive they aren't hypo though. Hypo's have almost no black, other than a very small amount on their belly. That snake clearly has a lot of black outlining the saddles (which is what makes them appear to be okeetee). Beautiful snakes regardless.

My vote would be Miami. But I wouldn't bet my life on it.

Miami gets my vote, my Okeetee was much darker maroon with more orangy/pink blushing, almost no grey. Nice looking babies either way.

Not disputing anything anyone else has said, because i dont have much experience with either okeetees or miamis but my normal babie has alot of grey on its sides with the orange just on the top like that. It's possible they orange may spread some. Give it some time to mature and we can be alot more sure.

Very true piranhaking, then again could be a cross. Heck I have a boa that I have NO idea of what she truly is. I know what I was told she is, lol... with her it is just a best guess.

Im not sure on the genes on okeetee and miami work. Im not sure if they're actually a morph like amel or anery or whatever, or just a variation on normal that can be line bred and kept, but would dilute when crossed with something different. Anyone know how that works??

If this helps, the guy I got them from told me that he bred them by crossing a cremesickle and a ghost, which I didn't hear but my girlfriend heard him say. I believe she heard that, but I think he might have been telling a bit of a fib.... who knows.... I still like them.

I do know that Miami and Okeetees aren't morphs, they are just from different localities. Creamsicles are a hybrid- cross between cornsnake and ratsnake. I dont know enough about cornsnake genetics to even try to get into this one, lol. Either way, they are nice looking babies.

Re: Help with ID of these two babies...
just thought id throw this in, a creamsicle is a cross between an amel corn and a great plains rat snake (elaphe guttata emori i think is the binomial name for the rat snake in question here.)

edit, that makes sence now that i think about it. The amel and the ghost would cancel out, because they are recessive traits. That would leave corn, and part great plains, which is a black and grey/white snake. I know that a het creamsicle (which i assume would be a corn het for amel, and a great plains rat) looks completely different from a normal, very dark saddles, and very light greyish white background color. I would assume the great plains atributes would dilute, and result in something between that almost anery looking het creamsicle and a normal, which kinda fits the snake we see here. That is somewhat of a random thought (assuming the info about the parents is right), so dont put to much weight on it, its just a possible idea that hit me.

I think piranhaking is on the right track...these guys may very well have been a ghost corn x creamsicle mix. Technically you have a hybrid (1/4th Emory and 3/4ths corn) known in the biz as a "rootbeer corn"...though root beers are typically a 1/2 mix of both Emory and Corn. Your pair just happens to be het for Anerythristic A, hypo, and amel. Hope this helps!
