Sani vs. Shredded

I've been trying to figure out which one I overall prefer and which one is overall better for the snake. I'm choosing between, Nepco Aspen Chips (aka: Sani Chips) or Aspen Bedding 1 (Thin Shredded Aspen). The sanichips are pretty light, so the digestive issue comes into play if it ever sticks to the prey. The aspen bedding 1 seemed to have some dust on it, not a fan of that. But I was just curious on what people thought about the two?

Also, if anyone can recommend a brand of clean mulch like bedding that I can get in bulk (around 2.5 cu ft a bag), please let me know!

I vote poo poo on the sani-chips.

I stopped using sani-chips years ago, I scrub my shop down from top to bottom every single week, and I still find a stray chip here or there all the time ... I hate those things!!!

I also hated the hemipenal abcesses (something you can't avoid with mulch type beddings).

I'm typically using paper towels for my male balls, but for females I kind of like to give them something they can sort of "nest" in, if you know what I mean. And yeah, basically vacuum daily here with sanis. Anything on the aspen bedding 1? Thanks a lot Adam!:salute:

I tried both and went with the aspen. Can't recall why anymore, but all mine are on aspen now. The dust I don't find to be an issue.

I have the Aspen (Sani Chips) and I HATE THEM! They stick to EVERYTHING!!!! I find them ALL OVER my house.

Newspaper and kraft paper are my favorites. Snakes do seem to like the kraft paper better, but what do I know, I don't speak snake. :)

I just like to have that peace of mind that when I fully clean a tub, that it's clean. Can't really spot clean on newspaper if a snake urinates, LoL

I agree. I switched back to newspaper; no more phantom urate odors!

I use cypress, never had a problem with it.
