How do you service your nipples???
I have been using these brass nipples for a few months now and they are starting to stick from random junk in the water. Any luck with a certain soaking/cleaning solution?

Re: How do you service your nipples???
I just wet them down & blow on them. Seems to work well. :devilish:
Technical explanation: If I find one that sticks, I'll take it apart, rinse it off real well, and then blast it with canned air - great for removing any bits of bedding or gunk in the apparatus. I've never tried soaking them, but you may be able to use some sort of CLR type chemical to remove hard water deposits if that's the trouble you're running into. We have very hard water up here & I've never had to do more than take them apart & hit them with canned air (or blow on them in a pinch ;)).
HTH!

You can try soaking them in vinegar, that will break down a lot of mineral deposit type things.. and is non toxic for the rats.

I twist them then blow on them.
But seriously... I untwist them, then blow out the gunk that is stuck.

Good old Mr. Fix-It (http://www.misterfix-it.com/) has the answer LOL and he says vinegar or some other acid based cleaner but my money would be on soaking your nipples in vinegar as it's probably the safest option and will rinse completely clean. You might want to get a baby bottle cleaning kit. They come with a larger brush and a special small brush just for cleaning nipples (that would be bottle not mothers). :)
