    Side by Side Fridge/Freezer
So I see everyone turning normal units into incubators, but what about side by side's. This could work yes? I figured it was all the same....just layed out diffrent. Wanted to know if anyone has done this.

    Thanks Guys and Gals.

Anything that will hold heat and humidity can function as an incubator. Even my boxers...

I'm not sure if the side by side freezer/refrigerator have independent motors and stuff...i'm currently trying to figure out how to get the freon out of this mini fridge....i would think that if you cut the lines for the fridge in order to convert it to an incubator, you would have to sacrifice the freezer too....i dunno.

This local champion did one like this. Seemed to work just fine. Lot's of space but none the less lots wasted from the seperation of two sides. You could always remove the inner seperation panel to blend the two areas. I would also all plexiglass windows so you are not opening the doors ALL the time to look at the eggs. When you add these windows use a panel on the outside and inside. The air between the two panels of plexi will serve as an insulator.

First off Jamie...that was just wrong!

Couldnt we use both sides for incubation? I dont see why not, but was just wondering.
Also, while everyone is on the subject of plexi-glass...how should we go about doing this? It's not that we arent crafty, we just dont have tools at the moment, I would love to have clear doors I just dont know if its possible in our situation, there should be a DIY picture section of this process....

Simplistic. You just cut out the center of the door with your CSI plasma laser or saw. Then attach outer sheet of plexi and inner sheet of plexi via screws and silicone. See?? Cake :)

My daughter has started saying "Knock it off" does that count? lol.
I like this age because she talks ALOT so it's easy to see where I need to improve on, she repeats everything and then I realize "Okay, might want to stop saying that!" Like when she said "Mommy B.O.!" yeah, thats not something you want her telling people lol...I thank my hubby for teaching her that!

My five year old ever so nicely took a new babysitter into the rodent room, pointed to one of the bigger breeder tubs and stated "this is where them rats have the sex" Apparently me muttering as I clean the rodent room..."okay you lazy bunch of rats would you stop napping and have some sex please" has been overhead by Mr. Big Ears!

That is so funny..I would of loved to of been a fly on the wall during that conversation...I could only imagine the baby-sitters face lol.

My daughter is just learning about her body and all of it's parts and we happen to not use cute little names for everything and say it like it is...so she always looks under my shirt, skirt, dress, down my pants or shorts and says "ohhh vagina" even if she cant see a darn thing she has to say it...kills me, especially when she catches me off guard outside or something lol.
So far though she hasnt done anything to humiliating, although she does pull my tops down in public and say "Milk..Mommy's Milk" she hasnt figured out that there not called "milks" The funnies thing she has done to date though, is when my husband and I were sitting on the couch and she came over and looked down my shirt and said "mmm Milk" then she went over to my husband and looked down his shirt popped her head out and looked at us and said "Empty?"
    That cracked us up forever!

I got an old Coca cola display fridge. It's well insulated and has a large glass door(with coke bottle handle). You can find an old one, maybe even broken down, cheap, put 10" heat tape and a computer fan from from Radio shack inside and your ready to go. And of couse a thermostat.
