You won't find a Cinny for 300 even though prices are fallling and they aren't that difficult to distinquish from normals. If it sounds too good to be true Styx it normally is.

 Am I missing something? Is he saying that dikielreptiles is the breeder? The way < I've > read it, is that the snake is actually captive HATCHED, not captive BRED, and that this dikielreptiles has bred cinnys, but not necessarily THIS one.

It reads like a scam to me, but I'm still learning the ropes. Maybe someone on the BOI knows these breeders/sellers??????????????

plus, does that snake look like its in the early stages of a shed cycle to anyone as much as it does to me? you can see the cloudiness on the black pattern already. also, i know when my snakes start a shed cycle the light brown/golden pattern turns cinnamon colored exactly like that. that snake could be (and i think it is) completely normal. i wouldnt do it.

i'm concerned over how many of your questions went unanswered. regarding parasites, hatch date for example.

personally... unless you are comfy paying $300 for a normal male... i wouldn't do the deal!

when purchasing an animal which you can't see for yourself, probe for yourself (or take it somewhere to get it probed for you) then you need to have a level of trust with the seller. i doesn't sound like you have that with this person.

i'm buying some hets from adam. i trust him 100% - i believe that he's going to sell me and send me exactly what i'm paying for... the trust is there so the deal is being done. ;)

    no trust... no deal.

Sorry but I'm still trying to figure out how this is a "Help!!! Immediantly!!! Emergency!!!" situation? Anyways, remember that all seemingly good deals aren't and buying from someone who is pressuring you for a fast purchase should always be a bit of a red flag (well unless you are one of those can't make up your mind type buyers and the breeder is just getting sick of you - even the best of breeders must lose their patience with that at some point LOL).

Actually, since June of this year, you only have to be a registered member to post on BOI, you don't have to pay any longer. I just looked at a BOI thread to be sure, and there were several posts just yesterday by registered (not contributing) members.

I'll add my question of the reality of this being a "Emergency!!!"
Advice on whether or not to buy a snake doesn't normally constitute a emergency to me.
    Just saying.
That said, yeah, its a scam, esp since someone recognizes the feeding card from someone not even mentioned in the emails. The contradictions in the emails, and the urgency on wanting the money, and the price.

Styx, in no way does your "purchasing" dellima constitute an "Emergency" in need of "Immediant (sic) Help"...personally I'd reserve a title like that for a health related issue...

Having said that, you obviously had to have done some research on cinni's to be able to find the "best deal"...does $300 sound a little too good to be true?

Since you're asking for opinions, I would opine that you should be able to recognize a cinni before attempting to purchase one...there are many many reputable dealers that will help you along the way, but you need to support them and not the scammers (its funny how that record card looks very similar to one that a WELL known breeder uses) that bring down this industry...

You should go to www.nextworldexoctics.com and look at his "Hunter's Guide" it has great info on identifing different morphs. Sorry I don't know how to send links. I have purchased many snakes fron Jon at nextworld and he is not only honest and reputable but also extremely helpful and availible. An $800 for a cinny is a great deal so $300 is too good to be true. I heard someone once say ask him to send you a picture of the snake on todays newspaper to confirm he actually has the snake and not just a picture. the emergency is you're about to get had.

Good to know that you're doing your research...I think that westcoast jungle was right on the $... http://www.nextworldexotics.com/hgcin.htm is a good place to start. You can see some of the variances in the pictures that Jon posted on his site. If possible I would look at some of these variances in person (whether I was dropping $300 or $3000) so that I knew what I was looking for in an animal.

When I am purchasing an animal, I am looking for the qualities that I like, and want to pass on to future generations of animals...I'm not looking for the lowest price (until I find that animal that has all of the qualities that I'm looking for...and this usually does not come at a "cheap" price). I would steer clear from any "deals"...I've learned through age that you typically get what you pay for...and if it's cheap enough, you might not get it at all...

No need to feel stupid here...I bet you feel a lot better having asked the question, than having paid $300 and playing the scam game...I am curious though, did you happen to send Ralph Davis the picture that you were sent? I think that it might peek his interest...and might get you some more answers about what "constitutes" a cinni.
