Same Pop, different Moms, what a difference!
Here's a couple shots of two holdback female lemon pastels from different clutches this past season. The girl on the left has gone through a nice change from a hatchling. Her yellow really lightened up quite a bit over the past month, especially toward the tail end. I'm not sure if it is just a phase she is going through, but I like it and I hope she stays this way.

Very cool, do you have pics of the moms?

Cant that amount of variation also be common among sibs?

Here's a shot of the moms, they are both pretty run-of-the-mill normals. Most of the pastels from "Mom of right" were kinda dirty, or speckled, and most of the pastels from "Mom of left" were very clean and bright, but there was a fair amount of variation between siblings.

I do have to say that the more I look at the right one, the patterns grows on me. Definitely not as bright but very active pattern.

    Evan,
That female on the left is very nice looking. I love her reduced pattern and bright yellows. I hope she keeps improving with every shed. Congrats on that keeper.

Thanks for the comments everybody! Bryan, that is exactly how I feel too. She hatched out with a very busy pattern and a lot of blushing. I was planning on selling her originally, but she really started to grow on me as she got bigger, and we decided to hold her back in the end. The "blonde" girl is still my favorite though, except maybe the other girl that is in shed.......

They look totally different! See, this is why I didn't mind that the pastel I bought, has browned out.. it is still in their gnetics that the offspring can be light. It's a gamble either way, I guess. I think that each of them is pretty in their own way.

    Jen,
It is somewhat of a gamble, but if you breed him to a nice light clean female, you will likely be very happy with the results. Looking at pics of your little guy, he still looks pretty good, I hope he starts doing his thing for you soon :D
