Re: is my snake pregnant ??

Re: is my snake pregnant ??
yes they have been together for the last two months..my daughter thought she saw them locked up but not sure ...she seems different she does not come out as much as usual .
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
Are you intentionally trying to breed? I'm trying to figure out why they are housed together?

That's a little small to intentionally try and breed her. For her health, I hope she's not gravid, and I would seperate them as soon as possible to avoid an unwanted breeding.
She could become egg bound (which could kill her) and there are a few other health problems, not to mention the fact that she probably wouldn't give you more than 2 or possibly 3 eggs at that size.... the chances that they are fertile is also low.
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
adam you hav very nice collection..what is the best weight for breeding
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
The best weight for breeding is 1500 grams and up and 3 years old and up...
You can work it around 1200, but 1000 is pushing it. Please take this into consideration for your snakes health.
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
ok great thank you i was unsure i have got conflicting information ..i wont try till she is bigger thanks
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
nicole,
is this the same snakes you were discussing in this thread? because i thought they were both males?
sorry, i'm confused
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
Remember too when you are looking at a female for potential breeding that 1,500 is a minimum guideline...not a carved in stone number. The best advice my husband and I got was to look at 1,500 grams as being that and also that being a minimum of 500 grams per foot. So basically a 4 foot female would need to be more like 2,000 grams minimum not 1,500 to be bred. A lot of other things have to go into the decision to breed so for me anyways it's never a rush into it sort of thing. The male and female will be around next season and the one after that and the one after that so why rush anything that might impact on their health or wellbeing.
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
Aleesha,
I think they are both male babies that are housed together in that other thread? At least that is what I read from that post. I guess she is trying to breed her snakes, but doesn't know much about breeding info so asked here?
Re: is my snake pregnant ??
they are different from the last thread...as for the one in the old thread he is much better and healed up ...SO THESE ARE DIFFERENT ....i have gotten conflicting weight info so i needed some advice .yes i am new to the breeding thing ...thank you for all the advice
