noobie saying "yo"
Hi everyone. The name is Tanya, and I have 2 snakes, a ball named Pippin and a corn named Evan Lorne. I'm also the rangler of 3 cats who love to watch "Pip TV" (as Pippin is in a clear container, so they sit and watch him sliter around for hours).
Though I want more snakes, my father says I have reached the limit of animals allowed in the house (as he has a cat that brings the number to 4), so much so I'm not allowed to even get fish. LOL. Though he said this before I got the corn too. (I'm an adult, but I live at home, so I have to respect his wishes). Perhaps one day.
So just saying Hi. :carrot: <--Man I love his guy.

Re: noobie saying "yo"
Welcome to the site. :) I know how it can be having a limit on the animals you can have (though I don't really have that problem anymore.. except for my space issue)
Warning though this site will help your herp addiction. :)

Welcome to BPNet! Just a quick word of caution regarding cats and snakes. Make sure that the enclosure is sturdy as cats have been known to come crashing down through a mesh type glass enclosure lid and kill or badly scar snakes (we have a rescue here that still carries scars from that happening before we got her).

Welcome aboard!! :handshake:
I can SO relate to the pain of having strict limits on the number of animals in the house. My hubby is a stickler that way. But it's important to respect the space of the other people we share a home with.
Thing is...there'll ALWAYS be another snake out there that you want but can't have...even for the folks that don't have to "ask" anyone else if they're "allowed" to buy another snake. ;)

Re: noobie saying "yo"
Thanks everyone for the welcomes. Don't worry, I was addicted for a long time. This just helps ease some of the symptoms (as I get great joy out of reading others experiences with herps)

Well JackJack, I think he thinks of it as a snack, as he was on the street for several months fending for himself. Though he mostly just sits and watches it (he's gotten fat and lazy). Molly likes it as her own pet, she gets mad when the other cats try to look at it (hitting them, chasing them away). Even when I have the snakes out (one at a time of course), she'll be about 5 feet away and keep the other cats from coming near it. Daniel is terrified of them, but he can't look away, unless the snake looks at him, then the runs from the room. My Dad's cat Kitty couldn't care less though.

Oh I know. Right now they are in Plastic tubs with secure lids. The cats do go up onto them (well two do), and they are very light. I have another tub like the ones that they are kept in, which I regularly use to stand on to reach things (as I'm quite short), and it holds me just fine.

Speaking for Arcane, since we're both in the same province, it's not too bad tonight. Actually almost warm, and tomorrow is supposed to be somewhat spring like, LOL!! We had a massive wind storm this past weekend though!
Where in NS was your family from?

Not sure where. I 'd have to ask my great uncle. He is the family historian.
He is still in Maine, Jonesport to be exact. I'm in a Virginia suburb of Washington DC. Your weather sounds a lot like ours :)

Even though rottnpagan already answered, I can tell you are decended from Canadians. We always talk about the weather. Today it's kinda misty, kinda warm, but not quite. In general a typical misty halifax day. Though there is no fog. If there was fog the sterotype would be complete.
And just for rottnpagan: :sabduel:
FYI, for the original comment about the koolaid, I thought about using that one.
