    silly question
I caught myself today talking to Nag and Nagaina. Does anyone else do this, or am I alone in my security that I KNOW they wont tell secrets?

    LOL

Seriously, I do talk to them often, and only every once in a while do I actually remember that they cant hear. I find it relaxing, and a stress-killer. I find petting my cats the same.

So does anyone else relax with your pets?

A few months ago, I realized that I was talking to my snakes, and not to my rats. I thought that was interesting, because the rats actually could hear me! I've made a concerted effort to start talking to my rats. Oh, and I still talk to my snakes, too!

Oh heck I talk to the snakes, the rats, the dog, the fish, the gecko, etc. So far none have answered back so I figure I'm still okay (but I think possibly the dog did make a passing comment on an Oprah show last week so I may not be all that okay LOL). My mom used to say I'd talk to a blank wall so I think it's just a habit with me to babble away as I work or relax with them whether they can hear me or not.

I talk to the animals in the pet store. Then workers pass by and gather in little groups, point and make comments....LOL. I was just talking to a BP yesterday tell her that I wouldn't hurt her (she started to hide) and that I just wanna see how pretty she was.

I talk to mine too. Probably good they can't hear me when I start swearing at them because they're not eating. XD

I talk to mine and worst of all I refer to myself in third person when I do. "Oh..mama just wants to hold you...aww you love mama..wooshoo wooshoo"

My husband has busted me more then once talking to them, but I also talk to myself like crazy so who knows..

I guess we are all silly, but I bet there are alot more people that will not admit it. I usually just talk to them when they are bad and will not go back to their cages or they try to bite me.

I talk to all my critters. :nerd: I've been known to talk to plants too. I can't help it, and like you said it's relaxing.

Plus in the same way animals can sense fear and tension I think they can feel the love and in that way it relaxes them too. Or at least I like to think so. I also think it relaxes people who aren't snake people when you talk to snakes in front of them. It makes them seem less alien and the non-snake person feel more comfortable.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. It's perfectly fine to talk to them. However, if they talk back, then you may wanna make an appointment or two, lol.

You and Joe both like to call me out!! Although I am unsure why I say "wooshoo" to them....hmmm....I'll have to give you guys a sound bite of that some day. And I do realize now after you guys pointed it out....if someone was just listening in and couldnt actually see me (as if that would make me look better) I would come across as some pervert of sorts.... great..always the pervert....:rolleye2:
