Re: calico
I have. I think it's genetic, but there's not a lot of them around right now.

Re: calico
I saw one of those in person the other day....pictures do not do them justice. They have an awesome orange tint to them.
Scroll down a bit for the calico pics and you can really see the color on this one ;)

Re: calico
Calicos are awesome! They are a dominant (possibly co-dominant) morph. We'll see if there's a Super form soon (hopefully!). I believe they are kind of like Piebalds where the amount of white on a Calico is random. You can produce high white/color Calicos from low white animals and vice versa.
We just picked up a couple of Calicos this year and are really excited to work with the project. Here's are a couple of pictures of our female....

Re: calico
The calicos and the sugar balls are both visually stunning and the genetics on both are proven. :)

Re: calico
i have heard of them, but never sceen them before. absolutley beautiful!

Re: calico
Celia, those are GORgeous!! Here I go again...adding a new "favorite" to my already huge list!
Questions: Are the Calico and Sugar balls the same morph? Or two different morphs that appear very similar? Or the same morph from incompatible lines? (like axanthics) If they're totally separate morphs...what are the differences between them?

Re: calico
With a $15k price tag, I will just admire their beauty on the computer

Re: calico
The amount of white is random, but can it be gradually bred higher? Because it would be neat to see a "whited out" snake - all colours except for the black whited out. Not like an axanthic with just no yellow, but clean black and white with no grey pattern?
Because I think that would look pretty cool!

Re: calico
Celia, that calico is beautiful! It looks a lot like the "bubblegum" calico that Michael Cole, Ballroom Pythons South, had at his table at the Tampa and Daytona shows. I absolutely love them!
Tell Sean I said hi. Take care
BTW, I was real envious of all the great looking snakes you guys got at Tinley Park. Can't wait to see what you do with them.

Re: calico
Micheal Cole's is the most gorgeous calico I've seen so far. Bar none, and until you see it in person you can't understand how absolutley stunning that animal is!
