I hate DHL!!!!!!!!

Sorry all but i have to vent. I ordered a 50%het albino female and a normal female from a great guy on fuana. He has been a shipped throught DHL for a long time so dont worry about telling me DHL doesnt ship reptiles, they still do for old customers that used to ship reptiles. So here is the rant. I called DHL this morning to find out the delievery time, they told me by 3pm and Dennis(guy i ordered from) told me he shipped by 1030am. So i called them back at 3pm when i still didnt have my snakes, and they told me that the driver left late and would be another hour or 2. So i called them back at 5pm since i didnt have them yet. Same story couple more hours. Called back at 6pm to have them contact the driver and get back to me, which they never did. So after another hour or so i called them back and they told me they couldnt get ahold of the driver and he had till 12pm to deliever since he left late. So i wait until a little after 11pm and checked the tracking number and it said they deliever it at 11am this morning. So i called them to figure out what was going on and they basically told me i had to wait until the morning when the local facility opened up to find out where they were delievered. I just cannot believe this. First the tracking number said the driver didnt leave until 1212pm and now it says he left at 820am and delievered it at 1055am and was signed for by someone named Morris. Sorry all for the rant, just had to get it out of my system and i just hope the little ones survive the night where ever they are.

Wow that is frustrating... I have shipped through DHL and never had any problems, but if I remember correctly I found that they do not knowingly ship snakes, but they do lizards and other reptiles. I also remember reading somewhere that they have a money back guarantee if the package does not arrive before 10:30am the following day?

At any rate, I hope you find your snakes alive and well.

Holy moly:eek: .I would contact the person who sold them to you and request a total refund.I will not be shocked if one of there workers stole your package:mad: .With all the differant stories you were told it just does not add up and now they are trying to cover there behinds:mad: .Let us know what happens

That totally sucks. I hope your guys arrive ok and you get this mess straightend out quickly :(

I've heard enough horror stores about DHL having problems with shipping people's invert's that I just don't want to use them.

OK quick update. I finally got a straight answer from one of the managers there at DHL. Aparantly i was lied to about them delievering up to midnight as he told me the latest they deliever is 7pm. But the driver went back to where ever she dropped them off yesterday and according to the manager i should have my girls by noon. Hopefully they survived but it is unlikely. I will update this thread again one i get them.

I would be getting DHL to cut me a check and then make them give me the package. And have them pry that I didn't send the vet bill to them for the check up and treatment for any injuries that they may have gotten

Well DHL finally showed up and somehow they survived. I will get pics of them later after they warm up and get settled in.

DHL is evil. Anything I've had delivered by them has arrived damaged, and they randomly left a package for my friend out in the sun on her porch that was a highly stealable laptop when it's obviously supposed to go to the apartment office. Neptune's cage arrived in pieces the first time, like it had been hurled against a brick wall.

I hear in some parts of the NE that DHL runs better than in the rest of the country, but all I know is I will never use them again if I can possibly avoid it. I also hate that they've teamed up with CopyMax and FedEx with Kinkos too... FedEx is the better delivery service and CopyMax is the better print place. Urgh. I guess they figured it was only fair.. :angered:

I'm glad your new scale kids made it! Poor things, what a rough ride...

heck i almost got locked up because they did not deliver a court date letter saying "no such address", the judge was very angry.

Thanks all. They are going alot better moving around and exploring their new environment. Also after i got the package the manager at my local branch, Mr. Donald Wright, said that the driver that was supposed to deliever my package yesterday got fired and he old tried to offer me some free shipping. I flat out told him that i would never use DHL again nor have anybody that i order from ship via DHL. But at least they are ok and i will get pics up in a day or so after they get a little settled in.

glad to hear that your snakes arrived and survived the ordeal!!! royal mail in the uk are not much better would never send anything of value with them would rather travel in the car for 8-10 hrs than use them ....;)

Wow! DHL does have a bad rep. I thought I was the only one that thought they where the worst delivery company in the whole world. :mad:

I've never had a problem with DHL before. I've never gotten an animal shipped though them, but I've shipped and have people ship things to me though DHL.

Yes royalmail suck but I'd never even dream of posting a living animal. Is this really a good idea?

I am happy they arrived alive and still healthy:) .What did the person you bought them from have to say about all this? I would demand DHL refund you the shipping costs at the least.I will not allow DHL to touch anything i order, not even my shipping boxes i use to ship thru FEDEX :8: :P .

sorry to hear about your issues with DHL, but it is a good thing to make a note for myself NOT to ever use them to ship anything of mine.

Joe the shipper feels the same way i do. He said he was already in the process of getting FedEx certified and will be having a talk with DHL about getting shipping costs back and sending the shipping back to me.
